jump suit how to? (crossposted)
Hi all,
I'm making super hero costumes (8 to be delivered on Wednesday ) I have kwik sew 3029 which is a men's leotard, dance pants, Singlet and t-shirt. I want to make a jumpsuit for superman, batman etc. How to I blend the pattern for the top and pants to achieve this? Do I cut the top and pants each along the waist line (plus a bit for seam allowance) or will this give our super heroes a wedgie? Or do I cut the pants out without the casing for the elastic at the top and cut out the t-shirt at the waist? Hope I have described the problem in an understandable way I have to use the patterns I have as it is nearly 2 hours to where I can purchase any others. Please help, I'm running out of time and am tired and confused!!...Amelia in Australia ( where it is very late and I've been up to long!!) |

Hi Amelia:
The biggest thing you will need to change is the greatest degree of stretch! (For a jump-suit/catsuit/unitard, the greatest degree of stretch should go up and down the length of the body. For bodysuits, t-shirts and pants it should go across.) Make sure that you have their torso length and/or their nape to waists and crotch lengths as these are extremely important when making one-piecers if you want to avoid those wedgies (over here in Canada, we call it the camel-toe!) If I were joining them, I would do it at the drafting stage: join and blend the patterns together at the waist. Good luck! Cynthia "romanyroamer" wrote in message ...
