I'm finding the 881 temperamental because the carriage jams continually is
this the same with the passap?
I would really appreciate finding out about how the passap works or doesn't!
before I make a purchase.

Turn the carriage over, in the middle there is a little flippy lever,
about half an inch each side of this are 2 more flippy levers that
should be spring loaded, the spring has come off one or both of these.
Look closely and you will see the loop on the end of the spring which
should be over the pin on the underside of the lever. You can hook it
back with a latchless needle.
Let me know if this doesn't work.
