Hi all,

A week or so ago I posted about ideas for selling to stores. I have
decided to start small and try my luck on Ebay instead.

You can see an example of what i'm selling at :-

I'd really appreciate any comments or ideas on how I could vary the design,
do the handles better, etc etc.

I'm not asking any of you to buy anything!!

I finally got the chance to look at your bags, so here's my thoughts.

About the handle, the cord seems to be too dainty for the size of the
bag to me. I tend to put heavy items in my shoulder bags so I look
for straps that are wide so they don't dig into me as I carry it
around. Have you thought about a wider fabric handle? How about a
strip of small squares pieced together on the outer side and a solid
colored strip on the inner side for the handle? Or maybe just a
solid colored fabric strap.

A better background for your picture would help your bags look better
than some of the others on ebay. Consider using a piece of dark
fabric draped behind and under light colored bags and a light color
for darker bags. Or simply lay fabric on a flat surface, lay the bag
on it, and take the picture looking down at it. Avoid using black or
white as the background color as they are harsh. A bright white
background washes out the color in a photo anyway. Try navy, brown,
or dark gray for a dark background, and off white and pale blue or
gray instead of white.

Have you thought about listing some of the large bags in needlework
accessories as needlework project totes?

A measurement for the handle in the description would be helpful to
possible bidders.

Consider adding a standard ruler in the picture to show scale.

If you make a large and small bag that match you can list them as a
set or list separately and put a link the other one in the
description. Links to matching items are handy for the potential
buyers as it eliminates the need to look at a list of your other items
just to find the one thing that interests them.
