It has been less than a year since there was a flurry of messages on
here. Last fall there was an extended period of dialogue, but all seem
to have left for greener pastures. Seems that everybody either
already knows how to do everything, doesn't care to ask, or would
rather just pay for it or for having it done.

I used to post "How To" articles on here, but got virtually no
response, good or bad, so gave it up as a waste of time, after a
while.

The number of spammers is actually miniscule compared to other
newsgroups, and the individual advertisers are usually a one-off deal
that are handled through email on a one-on-one basis. I think people
are just spending more time on web sites and chat rooms and the like
to get the instant gratification. Now we've gone from "nobody writes
letters anymore" to "nobody writes on the newsgroups anymore."
