Default quilter dilemma

I asked my long-arm quilter friend, and here's her reply:

"Yes she should DEFINITELY let the quilter know of the mistake. Then I
think I'd let the quilter suggest a compensation. My experience has been
that the quilter will offer her more than if she suggested a solution.
Unfortunately, the quilter is the last to know about an error. I really
want to know if someone isn't happy because I may (or may not) be able to
correct it or at the very least learn from it. "

What a bad situation. I am glad I don't send my quilts out but for those
that do communication is a big deal.
