Default MN Shop Hop

Did anyone else here do any part of the annual Minnesota Shop Hop? It's
an annual state-wide hop that takes place the first part of August. This
was the first year I did any of it. A friend and I hit 6 shops near us
in the southeastern part of the state. My dear sweet husband let me stop
at 1 more in the SE part and 2 in the SW part on our way to SD two weeks
ago. Didn't buy much and didn't qualify for any prizes, but saw lots of
neat stuff. Also found some cool batiks at a Ben Franklin-type variety
store in Gregory, South Dakota. In general, I'm not big on shop hops --
I think I get fabric store overload. And I don't usually buy much fabric
unless I know what I might use it for. But it is fun once in a while to
see shops I don't usually get into because each shop seems to have its
own unique personality. I also enjoy the time spent with my friend --
and the yummy Chocolate Shoppe ice cream we found both days we were out.
Try it if you get a chance. The Zanzibar chocolate is superb.
