Default on topic for once: bernina stitch regulator

I don't know about the rest (except that of course they would remember
that beautiful Sofi) but a glass of wine really helps my MQ'ing a lot.
I can't just drink all day though ; )

I was just talking to DH about Bernina refusing to make a machine that
quilter's want. Since I have been quilting on the Brother with the
larger harp I don't think I could go back to MQ'ing on a standard sized
machine. IMO it is so tough to move the fabric around on the Bernina it
would counteract the help of the stitch regulator. If I was needing to
buy today I would seriously look into the Janome home machines for
quilting. I am hoping Bernina will come out of the dinosaur age and
bring us quilters a machine we want. We want it all, Stitch regulator
and a large harp. Hope at some point they will listen in to our needs.

I stopped at the Viking area at my JoAnn's yesterday (the lovely ladies
remembered Sofia even if they hadn't seen her for a while, name and all,
of course she was wearing another hand knit sweater I made for her and
they had commented about the previous one so that helped). Back on
topic: I asked if Viking was planning on coming up with something
similar to the Bernina stitch regulator in the near future. They said
the bernina foot was not fine tuned yet, basically not ready for prime
time, and that it doesn't compare to what you get with a big quilting
machine. They also said that I should be able to do FMQ just as well
with any machine after some music and a glass of wine... what do you
guys think? Obviously they didn't want to lose a client to the
competition but is there some truth to this?
