Good luck with the shearing of your llamas. Is it costly
to have it done by professional shearers?.

i really don't know. i've always sheared my own. i don't know
if there even are any professional shearers around my area.
the livestock clippers are very expensive, but i have 6 llamas
& the Angora goat, so i can justify the expense. it takes
almost 3 hours to clip a llama with the hand shears if you
have a cooperative llama. all but 2 of mine will behave fairly
well for clipping, as long as i don't try cutting thier
toenails too. my intact males are another story...
my best mama llama has very short fiber & a lot of guard
hairs, but none of her crias has much guard hair at all. the
nice thing about Junifer though is that i can comb her to get
the fiber (or pick it out of the fence & off branches...)
