Sounds counter intuitive but I use a 12 inch long with a 3/16" blade. At
an angle.


I can go at an angle with Phillips head, Singer OEM screws are standard
head.

I may sacrifice an old, long screwdriver by cutting off the shank and
epoxying some string back on for a grip. The Janome store is ~1/2 hour
drive.
