Good luck on Monday, and I hope you find Lots of yummy fabrics that fling
themselves into your arms. I can commiserate on evil moms, trust me. But
on the positive front, I wouldn't have a pair of delightful (I call them my
godson and goddaughter) children in my life, if it wasn't for their mom's
hatefulness. Hopefully as his grow up a little more, they will make their
own relationship with your DH and you.

Much sympathy and prayers,

Well, DH and I will be on the road tomorrow at noon making our way across
country to Iowa. We got a letter from our attorney yesterday that our

court
date is set for Monday. We knew it was coming we just didn't expect such a
short notice.

Just a short explanation. DH has been having trouble with his ex-wife
violating their court orders for a long time now. They have two daughters
together, ages 15 & 12. Well, Monday is SD's 16th birthday. How ironic. We
were in court on a custody hearing in 2000, last year and now we're going
back again. This time it's not for custody though, it's on contempt of
court. She is refusing to allow DH to have his visitation with the girls

and
she's refusing to pay her half of transportation costs, among other

things.
He has court ordered visitation every spring break, every summer and every
other Christmas. She refused to let us have the girls for spring break

this
year and then talked the girls into not coming for summer. In the 12 years
they have been divorced, he has never missed a visitation or child support
payment. Now all of a sudden, he's getting no visitation at all. When she
refused to fly them out when school was out, we drove out there to pick

them
up. But she had convinced them to refuse to come with us. So he filed
contempt of court charges on her. Now we have to go for the hearing on
Monday. Considering how we have been totally screwed by the Iowa court
system so far, we really don't expect anything in our favor. But who

knows,
this time we just might get a judge who won't put up with her nonsense. I
know this probably sounds harsh to some of you but there is such a long
history of her abuses that I can't even begin to cover it all right now.

Since we will be in Council Bluffs over the weekend, I'm hoping to make it
out to the Quilted Moose that Carol was talking about awhile back, along
with the other LQS's in that area. Who knows, I might get lucky and find
some of the fabrics I've been looking for. LOL. I just wish I had time to
stop in at some along the way. Oh well. So if anyone has any suggestions

of
fab shops in the CB or Omaha area, let me know. I will check back in here
before we leave tomorrow.

Any prayers that you all can send our way for safe travels and for the

judge
to actually let justice prevail would be most appreciated. DH and I are

both
trying to be positive and not give in to the hurt and anger, but it's

really
hard when you have no choice but sit back and watch as she destroys

his/our
relationship with the girls and to not be able to do anything about it.

Mika
