Default Finally my Celebrations report

Well, I was going to go on Thursday, but instead spent part of the day
with DS and then took the girls to LAX.

So, bright and early Friday, I hooked up with Jenn and Mary (friends
from the New England group) and gave them the cupcakes for Margaret's
surprise party that night. Re-hooked up with Margaret and Cynthia Ward
(she sometimes hangs out here) Then we shopped the mall until we
dropped, went for lunch/breakfast at Great Harvest Bread Company (one of
my favorite places for sandwiches and baked goodies).

Shopped some more and saw Bobbie V who was having major family time with
her DIL and two of the grandbabies. And for the small, small world part
of the day, Cynthia was talking to a woman and girl, both of whom looked
sort of familiar. Turns out the girl is an acquaintance of DD and they
live just around the corner from us. Both Mom and G are stitchers and we
later spent some time stitching together.

Didn't do tons of damage at the mall, but did break my "no new floss
that isn't to be kitted into a project NOW" rule and came home with
several grab bags of Gloriana floss and ribbon. I bought a chart from
RoseWood Manor

and spent way too much money at

http://niftythriftydrygoods.com/

on charms, buttons and trim... I love this store and hope to find her at
the quilt show this fall too

never did find my ornie cut of 28 count Cashel. And there wasn't as much
there as I'd have wanted for smaller cuts of fabric or selection of
charts. I know the gathering is mostly for the sampler crowd, but I'd
still like to see more variety of charts

---

Friday Night at Dinner was delicious and fun as always. Still laughing
at how many folks couldn't figure out how to make an "X" on a bingo
card. Love my "Captain" gifts - a lovely Bellick style pitcher from the
table and from Susan Greening Davis a pin cushion stack to stitch up. My
bingo prize is a Rosewood Manor Butterfly pin to stitch.
And Margaret does turn a lovely shade of red when sung to en mass. It
was also Bobbie's DGS's b'day.

got Margaret again in one of the open rooms with cupcakes. and another
chorus of happy birthday.
-----

Saturday I took the Funky Flowered Pincushion class. I still have some
finishing to do and the hot glue gun to warm up, but I thoroughly
enjoyed the class. I'm all set to make more!!!!

Won a Silent Auction prize - a cute finished piece from Shepard's Bush.
I toss 15 tickets in one, 15 in another and only one in three others.
Guess how many I tossed it that bag - one. But I do love i and it will
go on the wall soon.
----
went to the Round Robins Saturday night, I think these need to go back
to the first nights, no one was really into by 7 PM Saturday.

Didn't get as much stitching done as I might have wanted to - did finish
another set of leaves on my surface work pillow and a few more letters
on my Bumblebees and Ladybugs piece. I think I'll be rotating these two
for a while.
But I did get to spend a lot of time with a few of my favorite people.
