Hey Waco *wave* You coming down to Boerne next weekend for Kid-n-Ewe?
I'll be running a booth, will have a Bosworth DT (the first production
model, it has issues but it is a NICE little wheel) among other
tempting goodies. Lots of fiber, etc etc etc.

I hear it both ways, too, Slinky. I live just south of Waco.

I usually say CROW-shay, but you're right - it may be my age and upbringing,
(since I learned to do the basic CROW-shay stitches when I was a child.)
But I find myself pronouncing it cro-SHAY on occasion, too.

No doubt the Yankee influence from those 3 years in Boston, LOL!

Back home in Illinois its "cro-SHAY", here in Texas I hear it both
ways and it is usually age-dependent - older folks call it CROWshay,
younger ones (like me, decrepit tho I am getting) call it croSHAY.

However, I have a nephew who is 6'4" and quite adorable who CROWshays
thread doilies. His g'gma taught him, and she CROWshayed, donchaknow.

CROCHET.
Now, I've always said and heard it as:

crow-SHAY. (and the crow part is more of a creh than crow) (didn't we

call
that the schwaa sound in phonics?)

Here in TN, they say:

CROW-shay.

Which way do YOU say it?
Hugs,
Noreen

ever the one to come up with discussions, grin!
