Hello everyone,

I'm curious to know how much of the wool sold around the world is
produced by merino sheep, but not labeled 'merino wool.' does anyone
have an idea, or a lead? Thank you very much for your help!

Ilya, it all depends on what is made out of the merino wool. You will
find that for spinners the fleece will be sold as Merino.....

For yarn, since merino it the finest in fiber count I am sure it is
labeled Merino, that is what sells it. However what is done with second
rate merino I do not know. It may be used for undustrial uses, for
insolation material, for upholstry in a blend for instance, in the making
of yard goods etc. You may find in the label in a suit made out of merino
that it is made out of 100 % wool. I am not sure though of that. You
have to contact the wool board in your country to find that out

Let us know of your findings
