Thank you for sharing! Funny write-ups... but I have to admit (do I hang my
head now?) that I kind of liked *some* of those patterns... the toys, wreath
and fake plant, NOT the clothes. I wouldn't mind finding a pattern for the
things I did like... but since they're from really old books I likely never
will.

Gem
Like I don't already have more patterns than I'll ever use. ;o)

For those of you that get a kick as I do of the knitting patterns from the
old magazines (remember those scary ski-hats that someone here posted a
link
to???), I came across a blog last night that actually had me crying from
laughing so hard.

Off the right is the index for five volumes of the "Museum of Kitschy
Stitches". The link above is the intro and Volume 1

I was crying by Volume 2 ("You Knit for your Mama With Those Needles") and
running for the bathroom by Volume 3 ("Emasculation Nation: Menswear that
makes Men Swear"). After that, I was completely out of control.

I wonder if twenty years from now, people will be looking at the 2005
issues
of Knitters and Vogue Knitting and asking "What were they thinking???"
