Oh, I agree completely. Though I should learn to remember to use the spell
checker, or learn to spell "sentence". correctly the first time.

There are benefits to being exhaustively long winded too.

Good exercise for the typing fingers, especially for those who can no longer
play the piano well.

Spending longer on typing a reply gives you time to reconsider the wisdom of
replying at all. More time to change your mind and hit the "cancel" button
instead of "send".

Spending more time on replying also gives you more time to try and organize the
reply, remember the facts that are lurking just beyond the edge of your brain
that you'd like to include even if they're not needed, or to just realize,
halfway through typing some tome, that you're being a total idiot and giving a
completely wrong answer. Unfortunately for me, usually this realization often
still does not hit me until well after I've sent the thing. But for some folks,
the added time delay might work.

And if one is trying to sell something, but knows that advertising on this group
isn't allowed, trapping the poor readers with your messages for a longer time
gives them more time to subliminally absorb your tasteful URL in your sig file.
Whether this triggers a greater avoidance factor, or a greater likelihood of
actually clicking the link, of course, is debatable. Depends on how tired
they've become of your long winded answers...
