I understand Pliantene is the commercial name for the British Museum Leather Dressing, developed for conservation of leather bookbindings...
Its receipt is:
-200 g anhydrous lanolin
-15 g beeswax
-30 ml cedarwood oil
-350 ml hexane

According to the bibliography, (Waterer, 1972) exists a non-flammable version, called Genklene, y the Imperial Chemical Industries, and another formula without beeswax, called Pliantine Special G, for the flesh side of the leather.
The reference for buying all of them, from the same date, is:
-Frank W. Joel Ltd.
Oldmedow Road, Hardwick Industrial Estate, Kings Lynn, Norfolk.
PE30 4HH England.

Good luck!!
