Julia Child was a guest with Martha Stewart.
Martha said: *I* only use fresh eggs from my own hens for baking.

OT Baking Ginger math

Maybe I should have written a preface to my question. It goes this way - DH
dearly loves GingerSnaps and I have every intention of inventing a world
class spectacular snap.
That said . . . if...

Here it is: 1/8 teaspoon of ground ginger (as in - in the little jar) =
one tablespoon of grated ginger (as in fresh)
So:

OT Baking AHHHHH!

Will somebody please 'think' with me?
My recipe for GingerSnaps calls for one tablespoon of ground ginger.
I want to use 'real' ginger - as in freshly grated.

OT The very best news for my sister HOORAY and THANK YOU

The thunderous thumping you hear is 8,500 gators and Polly doing a
high-stepping happy dance. How wonderful, how very wonderful. Polly

OT Baking AHHHHH!

It is not your fault. Some cookie recipes are very dependant on nice
weather. High humidity ruins my favorite cookie productions. It could be
your oven. My own oven thermostat is iffy. It may...

The last of 4 Sewing machine covers

Nicely done, John. Now - tell us that you've behaved yourself and your hand
is as good as new. No more peace signs at passing motorists and that sort
of thing? Polly

Some Samples I was given.

You lucky rascal. I loved that collection. It's what I used for a
graduation quilt for our granddaughter and the quilt is the treasured.

OT Where's our Scotland Jo?

Welllllll, Jo. So glad you've showed up. Are you still helping the mama
with triplets? I would imagine Christmas x 3 would equal a minor riot.
What fun. Polly

Thank you, Taria. There's going to be a kitty quilt here soon and your
ornaments ideas zigged my brain to include some mittens. Just the touch I
needed. Polly

A gift for you

I gave myself such a nice present and thought you might want to give it a
try. I packed up 3 pairs of Ginghers and shipped them off to the nice
Gingher man. For something like $ 6.50 per pair, he...

Machines for quilting or garments, opinions wanted

Aha! Methinks this could need a peaceful compromise much like pre-wash or
not. I love bells and whistles and I love Bernina . . . but I don't think
the Bernina would stand up to Leslie's or Kate...

Machines for quilting or garments, opionons wanted

Now there's a puzzle. I can't much imagine garment construction being lots
of seams one right after the other, pedal to the metal.
When I'm putting a garment together it's usually: stitch one...

What I've been doing

I had forgotten that part of my young life. Mama had 3 sisters. At all
times, two of them were not speaking to the other two. Occasionally, it was
3 to 1 but there was always, always a major or...

lurker with a ?-jeanne

When we moved, DH and DBIL dropped my beloved Pfaff on her head.
Thereafter, she only ran backwards. DD didn't see this as a problem; she
just moved her chair to the other side of the SM and...

Old Age and Stealth

the paper pieces, laid them on top of the fabric cut generally the right
size (2 pieces, right sides facing) and stitched...

Old Age and Stealth

It's got to be the funniest appliquéd crib quilt I've ever done. It was
mighty slow-going but worth every minute. Glad you enjoyed it. Polly

I put 2 pieces of fabric right sides together and stitch around the piece,

circles. Next I machine stitch around the appliqués...

The pattern Snugly Bugly, Stella Divine by Amy Bradley called to me. The
pattern calls for what we call raw-edge appliqué - not acceptable with the
probability of brutal laundry so I'm forced to...

One more (well actually two) bunny request!

Hey there, Alice. Would you believe my Conair didn't even last a week. It
does all the cute things but won't heat. What do you think? Got any magic?

"Karen, Queen of Squishies" wrote Larisa started a box a short while back.
That's probably the box she means.
And what's all this about being reasonable??
