today's challenge
I butt the two pieces of batting and zig zag stitch them together by
machine. It only takes a few minutes and the results are excellent! This tip
really improved my experience, as I used to hand...

Two color binding???
Definitely a job for striped fabric. There are so many wonderful stripes out
anymore, and the effect in binding is wonderful.

Lengthening a square quilt
Good point about not out-shining the center. Something tone on tone might be
just the ticket, though the chevron shape also appeals to me. Thankfully, I
have lots of time so I'm going to check out...

Batting scraps
Reading about stuffing and stuffing them in a tube made me think about using
the tube as one of those things you put along the bottom of your door to
keep drafts out. That would use up quite a few...

Sewing Rooms
I'd go for the unfinished basement and "finish" it the way you want. It is
probably farther away from the hustle and bustle of the rest of the house so
you are more likely to have uninterrupted...
