Press and Seal
 

What do you use Press and Seal for??

See earlier threads for a complete rundown. You can trace quilting designs
onto P&S using permanent pen. It clings to your quilt sandwich without
shifting. You can free-motion quilt through it, and it tears away easily
afterwards.

it's not advisable to use this for straigt line quilting with a foot of any
kind... it sticks and you end up with a mess...

I'm still recovering from that happening to my Competition quilt!!

I would DEFINITELY not sew into this
It will gum up your needles
We are in the process of making a very transparent wet laid non woven for
this
It will have a VERY light fusible initial tack
All of our non wovens are needle friendly - we include silicone in the mix
as a needle lubricant
It will be called
Floriani Design Placement Tearaway

We will send samples and pls be patient - by the first of the year

it doesn't gum up the needle at all.

sorry I meant it sticks to the sewing machine foot and *not* the needle...
my foot just dragged the press and seal along and wrinkled everything up and
then it tore and then well.. lets just say that the quilting lines were no
longer where they were supposed to be

and I was running rather late on the deadline to hand in my quilt ( the next
day.. long story!) so it was rather traumatic at the time ... now I can
nearly laugh about it

Ooooooooops, I was referring to the guys post. Frank I think his name
was. He said it would gum up the needle and it didn't gum up mine.
It could be that your walking foot presses down much harder or something.

ah yes *that* post... LOL

I don't use a walking foot.. in fact I don't even have one...it was my
normal 1/4" foot that messed things up - a pity really as the original
quilting pattern was miles better than what I eventually had to do...
