From China and South-East Asia, we have sourced arts and crafts that
we frame here in Melbourne, Australia. These artifacts make nice gifts
and are stunning for décor.
We also carry an extensive range of water-colour paintings of Chinese
'dragon' robes, imperial court attire, bound-feet shoes, and
'ancestor' portraits, and numerous calligraphy scrolls and paintings.
Finally we provide several types of Buddha and Guanyin statues, in
both wood and metal, as well as quality replicas of Tang Dynasty
pottery such as camels, horses and vases.
From Indonesia and Malaysia, we acquired a small range of textiles
comprising silk and cotton batik, cotton ikat, and silk songket, both
contemporary and vintage. We also offer wayang kulit shadow puppets
from Bali and Java.

From Japan comes our biggest range of artifacts. We have, over the
years, bought a wide range of kimonos (including yukata, haori,
homongi, furisode, uchikake, tomesode [both kurotomesode and
irotomesode], and shiromuku) which can be worn or used for decoration.
They are either modern or vintage and come in all sorts of materials
(silk, cotton, hemp, synthetic, ...).
The haori short overcoats, the black kurotomesode formal kimonos, and
the clourful uchikake wedding kimonos are stunning on a wall, hanging
on a bamboo pole.
The shiromuku is a wonderful alternative to the usual Western white
wedding dress, and can be worn for the wedding ceremony and reception.
Brides can also change into a bridal furisode or choose the more
elaborate uchikake.
We also propose an extensive range of obis (kimono sashes) such as the
fukuro, maru (many of which are Nishijin Kyoto brocade), Nagoya, and
hanhaba, as well as all sorts of accessories (zori, geta, obiage,
obijime, juban, hakama, ...).

We have also transformed these wonderful textiles to give them a more
modern and useful appeal. We are using the fabric to make lamp shades,
pillows and cushions, bed covers, ... . We have created our own brand
named 'dezain' which is the Japanese for 'design'.
We also sell a small set of ukiyo-e woodblock prints, both modern and
antique from artists such as Sharaku, Utamaro, Hiroshige, Hokusai,
Utagawa Kuniyoshi, Taiso Yo****oshi, Kiyonaga Torii, Eisen, ... . They
depict samurai, geisha and various scenes of everyday life in Japan.

Finally we have recently started with a line of affordable Chinese and
Korean furniture which includes wedding cabinets, altar tables, side
tables, buffet tables, coffee tables, tanzu step cabinets, ..., and a
small range of baskets. We will soon extend our offering with better
quality pieces still sold at reasonable prices.
