Jewish Needlework
Hi all! I am a longtime RCTN reader, but I haven't kept up for a year
or so. So I am sure this has been asked and answered before, but please forgive me. I have a friend whose grandson will be Bar Mitzvah'd next spring and she would like to embroider a tallit for him. But she can't find any needlepoint, cross-stitch, etc. patterns. I am sure there must be someone out there who has a source for Jewish themed patterns. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.... Ellen |

I bought a very nice Bar Mitzvah sampler from Avodat Yad - www.avodatyad.com This is a good site. Also, try the Pomegranate Guild (guild for Jewish needleworkers). They have links for Jewish Needlework, as well as a section with ads that members can put on the web site. It's probably the best place to look, centrally. http://www.pomegranateguild.org/index.html Susan Roberts does a lot of Judaica in needlepoint. I also do some, (thru my design company) and have done some custom tallit neckbands (painted). If you want to contact me directly, that's fine. But if your friend is looking for something immediately - honestly, I'm busy getting spring designs ready for the January trade show. Normally I need a couple of weeks to do one. Also, the web-site just moved servers, and I have it down for another week. ellice |
