I always wondered what to do with the leftovers too. They're too good to
get rid of yet not enough to do anything with. Then I joined a machine
knitters group and one thing they do every month is make hats to
donate for
cancer patients. They use the scraps very nicely with these hats. Some
have many many stripes of colors. Some have a brim of color. Some are
half
and half. Made me realize my scraps could go to a good cause.

Lynne this reads , as a very nice act.
I have found that i can knit also doll clothes as well as make FF
crochet bags for bazzars ir my own presents ,,
some of my sweaters are also quite colorful and i also use many
leftovers in my weaving ,,, but there are always more ideas around ,,

mirjam,

"Lynne this reads , as a very nice act." What is meant by this? It
comes across as I'm putting on a show... or being dishonest? Am I
reading this incorrectly? I was just joining in on my favorite topic...
yarn.

Perhaps "a very nice action" would be another way of describing what

I apologize too for reading it incorrectly. I was tired too and had just
come from the mean spirited group called rec.food.cooking. I like the
recipes, but quite few posters sure can be unkind over there.

This group has always been so nice and I love hearing about your projects.
I am not a hand knitter and don't have much to contribute. I'm really
enjoying learning how to use my knitting machine though. It is a fun gadget
even though it's a bit complicated and takes up so much room.

Lynne , this ok , i hope you know already that i am not the insulting
type.
And i like this group and the many kind people who post here.

My late mother had a Knittax knitting machine , and it made a HUGE
noise , when she worked on it , but i have learned to use itas well.
My mother became such and expert that she even knitted socks on it.
The big `flaw ` she found with it, was the impossibilty of taking it
along, to knit with it outside the house :::
she loved knitting on buss rides, in waiting rooms etc...
Thus tell us what are you Machine knitting now adays?
ps somebody sold me a Knitting frame [machine] , the only good use i
found for it was making Shawls and Shrugs . I knit the long rectangle,
than knit on in the circular the handcauffs and crochet around the
opening.

I think you're reading to much into Mirjam's words.

I met a young woman who said she inherited, some boxes of left over
threads, but she had no will nore urge to knit/crochet with them, but
would like to make some things with them.
She loves to sketch , so i suggested that she sketches some dolls etc
and than can glue colored threads over those sketches...

Either that or I read it completely wrong. I'm all straight as to what was
said now.
