Paint or paper??
 

I know many doll house enthusiasts use mini wallpaper, but have any of
you completed miniature murals/paintings or tromploei in a doll house
setting? If you have would you post photos of your work & /or provide
any tips?

Also, do any of you make/sculpt your own dolls from polymer clays? Any
photos or tips would be appreciated.

I have attempted to make small dolls in polymer clays, and found I'm not
very good at it. :)

The only tip I can offer, and this can apply equally well to paint or
paper, is to do your painting or papering on separate insertable wall
covers (thin cardboard, for example) to avoid having to work with
12-inch hands in a 1-inch (or half-inch or quarter-inch) setting!

I have tried too. Made a little jointed baby about 1 inch long with
jointed arms and a face only a mother could love or could have left in
the cabbage patch. I guess we both need to practice.

Cardstock generally works pretty well. Sometimes it takes a little
work to make sure that it doesn't warp from the moisture in the
wallpaper glue or the paint. If it's going around a visible corner,
it doesn't work that well for a painted room unless you can do a very
clean fold - difficult with cardstock.

You also have to plan carefully for windows, doors, electric
connections, etc.

We have a dollhouse where we made one bathroom's back wall a
completely removeable piece of foamcore to allow access to the hallway
behind it.
