Star Six Strand
 

Has anyone here heard of a cotton floss called Star Six Strand by the
American Thread Co.? I was just going through my needelwork stuff and
found an old plastic zip bag with 20 skeins of this in it. I'd even
forgotten I had it; I think I got it from a relative or friend a long
time ago.

I have some. My mother bought it in New York during the late fifties. The
paper wrappers say 3 skeins for 10 cents. They are mostly solid colors, but I
do have a couple that are varigated, ei. green shading to white and back to
green again, same with some orange varigated. The fibers are cotton, and seem
to have held up well with time.

I have a display case from the American thread co. Its from Fall River
Mass.I don't have a date on the box but they had 240 different skeins. I
thought it was for the 40's but I don't remember.
