Hi all,

I was reading about transferring images to clay on the Glass Attic
website. While there's a *ton* of useful info there, I was wondering if
anyone could provide something more basic; along the lines of

"Step 1 - do this.
Step 2 - do that.
Step 3 - etc."

I have a color inkjet printer. Can I use images printed out from that?

My take on it, if I've understood all the instructions I've read. I have
the liquid clay, but haven't tried it yet.

Trim image to size.
Put liquid clay on glass, enough to cover the image.
Place image face down on liquid clay.
Bake entire thing according to instructions.
Remove from oven and immediately peel paper off of clay, gently lift clay
from glass.
You now have a transferred image ready to use in whatever project you need!

I don't know yet what inks will work, so someone else gets to chime in on
that one.

Okay, sounds good. Do you then lay this on top of the clay you're
using, say, for a pendant? Does the image show through on the other
side of the sheet?

heck if I know sweetie, about seeing it thru the other side.
But you do lay it ontop of your intended area, like you said. Then just
blend the edges in, I would think.

I can't find my instruction sheet so I am just pulling this from memory (it is
the technique I used. Paint a layer of the liquid sculpy on the image, bake it,
then soak it in warm water. As the water soaks in the paper smooth your finger
over it and rub the paper away leaving the ink behind on the clay. You aren't
supposed to use high cotton content paper. It says not to use inkjet. I have
transfered from magazine cutouts with pretty good sucess. The little
instruction sheet I got mentions the technique Candace wrote. I havent tried
that. Maybe Sculpey.com has instructions?

That's exactly the kind of stuff I was looking for! I've already got
artwork in mind, now all I need is t-shirt transfer paper and cornstarch.
