Moderator's announcement- group vacation.
 

Hi all,

To those who celebrate Christmas, I wish you a merry one. To those observing
other holidays, similar good wishes to you all. May the coming new year bring
good things to all of you (even if it starts off with a rough start...)

Anyway, as often happens over holidays, I'm travelling. This time, I'm not
taking a computer with me, so I will not be able to moderate the group,
including approving new messages (or replies to this one) until I return on
January 1st. Take the week off from the newsgroups, and maybe the internet
too, and enjoy your families, friends, and other things in your lives of value.
Group access will resume in a week.

and we did get it extinguished thanks to a 14 YO noticing it in time),
still under a flash flood warning, and surprised that I can get to
Google
because the whole island of Oahu has the power out (lightning))

'Cause the poster, whom you all should recognize by now, knows how to "self
moderate" his messages. Normally, that's not allowed, and is a fine way to
invite the wrath of ISPs, newsgroup moderators, and the like. But this poster
happens to have on occasion been willing to moderate the group for me while I
was gone (which is why he knows how to do it), so I have no problem with him
doing that when I'm gone. But only when I'm gone...
