I agree that it is too quiet. I haven't been posting because my son has
been in SC (home state) in the hospital for 10 days. Then DH was in the
hospital with lung problems for 5 days. Just haven't had time to sew
anything! What had everyone else been up to?

there is chatter over on the FB but it isn't like the old days here. I miss
that too.
Hope all of those here in the US have a great Thanksgiving. Some baking
and lots of eating to commence pretty soon here.

Oh, so do I. I have been trying to think of something worth posting
about, for a couple of days - not much to report, though.
I am positively making time to do some P&Q most days, now. With the
days drawing in, and getting dark so early, that I can only really work
in the mornings. So, the household chores have to wait as the light is
not important!

I don't (and won't) do the social media. There will be a few posts
from time to time. I do check every day; and, when I have something to
say, I will post about it. All has been rather quiet lately.

I have picked up the Month by month quilt I designed for our Quilters
group. I had been doing nicely, then I had to start doing gardening and
all those other things which (apparently!) *have to be done. But, I
making strenuous efforts to change my attitude. I said to someone just
this morning, that I could spend all day every day doing little else but
chores....not going to happen any more g
I'll be left behind with you and the others Ginger. We will be a select
group of non-progressives! (if you can call facebook progressive g).

I'll post a bit more about this month by month quilt, soon, when I have
done a bit more of it. It seemed like a good idea, but the work
involved is quite demanding. Not to worry , got to keep the old brain
ticking.

Yes, I hope you all have a happy Thanksgiving over there!
I miss the wonderfully long threads we used to specialise in g
Remember? they used to change topic several times, on the really long
ones; but on the whole they were on topic, until right near the end.
Ragmop would always recite her mantra about changing the subject line,
and I never could because it simply wouldn't change for me!
Things change, though, and there seems not to be too much to talk about.
I think the threads fed off one another, too. So, without the
questions, and varied answers we tend to round off a topic very quickly.

I was trying to think of a topic to start, but hadn't quite got one. In
the next couple of days I will post about this quilt I'm working on.
It's quite interesting I think!

We have been laying plans for Christmas, test baking, organizing
incoming children and all suchlike.

I've mostly been working on finishing Christmas prezzies. I knit a
jacket out of yarn I spun myself, made a really big Totoro out of more of
it. Almost done with a pair of colorwork bedsocks, and then have to whip
off a "bunny band" Still have to line that jacket and sew the buttons on
come to think of it.
The only other thing I have going for Christmas are some sashiko style
pillows. When you are doing it as sort of embroidery sashiko just flies,
so I am not worried about finishing those.

Other than that I did a rough puff crust for a bakewell pudding instead
of proper puff. Used polish lekvar instead of jam too. Family thought
it was awesome. Ash actually ate the crust, but scraped off the
frangipane. Go figure.

OK I know some of you all call it a tart, but I learned it from Mrs.
Beeton so I am a bit behind the times. At least I have progressed to
frangipane instead of "unnamed almond stuff"! The modern frangipane
recipes are much simpler than Mrs. Beetons topping as well.

I might post more if I could post pictures.

That said, I have been working on Christmas gifts for the kids and some of
the grandkids. I made 4 table toppers/runners and 2 cuddle quilts and a
wall hanging so far. I also made and sold 6 table runners at our church
bazaar. Started cutting for a BQ2 twin size quilt. All that is going to be
put aside next week to make a couple of simple quilts for Quilts of
Compassion for the people of the midwest that suffered losses from the
tornados.
