Intro & Queensland AU LNS

Hi, I haven't been on RCTN for several years, but after a long hiatus I'm finally getting bcak to stitching. I recently moved from the US (West Virginia) to central Queensland in AU, and am looking for a LNS. I'm in Middlemount (aka Nowhere, LOL), about 1.5 hours northwest of Emerald, and about 3 hours from both Mackay & Rockhampton. I did find Needlworx in Mackay, but am wondering what else may be within driving distance. TIA

Happy to say hello - quickly - and happy belated holidays. I think a little
confusion. As I read this - you've moved from West Virginia to Australia?
So, can't help you through my personal knowledge.

But, while I don't want to sound like an ad - I do know that there are
active ANG (American Needlepoint Guild) members there, and the Embroidery
Guild chapter - which I think is the British group. Plus the RSN has an
affiliate. Point being that if you would like, the ANG Yahoo discussion
group is open - you don't have to be a member, and you can ask for some info
there - one of the members from Australia will easily point you to shops.
There are really active stitching groups in the area, and shops - though
they may be some distance - but some easier to order from than others.

That's my best suggestion. Seriously - check out the ANG website -
www.needlepoint.org - and look for the tab of the discussion group, it's
easy to join, or go to yahoo groups and do the normal join thing.

Donna & I have a friend who was teaching in Australia, and I just spoke with
another stitching acquaintance in AU, I can ask her - but she's on vacation
in the West somewhere.

Not that I'd ever stop coming here - RCTN is for friends, stitching,
everything.

Hope that helps. Sorry if it doesn't.

Log into alt.beenz as there are people there (Trish and Aramanth) from
Australia and NZ. They might have more info.

Good luck!
