Hi All,

This is a text file that will be crossposted to both
rec.crafts.knots and to alt.binaries. In alt.binaries, it will have
the scans of the knot attached. The scans include the text on tying
the knot. If your news server does not get binary groups, let me
know by e-mail and I'll send you a package with all the knots.

This loop knot appears to be slightly stronger than a bowline in
destructive testing with several types of cords. Note that in the
bottom view the knot looks like a three-legged reef knot. It ties as
quickly as a bowline and unties easier with just a tug of the slipped
end. It is very secure, never having slipped a millimeter in anything
but monofiliment. In monofiliment, if one uses two loops instead of
one to go around the piece of tackle, it will make a connection as
secure as a Trilene Knot.
