shiny clay

I am a beginner and want to make pc beads. When they come out of the oven,
will they be shiny or is there something I have to do to make them shiny? Do
any of the clay projects come out of the oven shiny? What should I put the
beads on when I put them in the oven? Would wax paper work? Is the correct
temp 250 degrees for 30 min, no matter how few beads? How can I tell when they
are done? Any help will be appreciated.

Hi Deb, If you are using sculpy or premo the finish will be matte. You'd
need to buff them to a shine or use a gloss varnish. The two I've seen
mentioned here the most are Flecto varethane and Future floor finish. If you
use Kato clay it will come out of the oven glossy as long as you have hit
the right tempertaure which is around 270 degrees. I haven't used the other
clays but if you go to http://www.glassattic.com you should find answers to
all your questions and to some you haven't asked yet.
