How to remove a glued-in shirt label by
LurfysMa
Can anyone suggest a way to remove a glued-in label in the back of a
polo short?
I was given a very nice polo shirt for Christmas. Unfortunately, it
has a rather annoying rubberized label glued in the back where the
sewn-in labels usually are.
I find all labels annoying and I always cut them out....

Hello All! In need of some advice... by
The Southern Gentleman
Hello Everybody,
My name is Mike and I'm 22 in North Carolina. I have become
interested in sewing for several different reasons:
A. The clothes that I like, the styles that I like, and the look that
I like - I cannot afford to support myself in my tastes.
B. Most of the clothes that I am...

Needles maybe by
NightMist
I _think_ I have a needle issue.
Once in a while my Pfaff 130 takes a fit and decides to wrap thread
around the spindle that turns the bobbin.
My usual response is to take her down, clean her out, oil the open
points, and change the needle. Sometimes that works, sometimes I have
to do it more...

Canvas thread by
SteveB[_4_]
I'm getting ready to play around with my walking foot Singer to make some
awnings. What kind of thread should I get? I want strong, and UV
resistant. Is this something available at a local store? Maybe an
upholsterer's supply? There's one in Vegas near where I live. Or can I get
it online...

Holy **** by
SteveB
I put a rule in my news reader that included the word "Gunner" and directed
it to delete all messages that had it in the subject line. I got about half
the normal amount of messages. I surely hope that I don't miss anything
important, but I doubt that.

Summer is the season of fun at the beach and there is plenty of
sunlight making it imperative to put on sun protective swimwear .
Whilst the great pastime time during this period is sun bathing, the

Sewing Machines: Making A Comeback? by

While we don't have to rely on sewing machines to satisfy our basic
clothing needs, more and more people today turn to sewing to create
unique, luxurious, one-of-a-kind pieces. Every family has that hand
embroidered grandmother's table cloth or a hand-made quilt, and these
pieces are as cherished...

A Sewing Machine For The Workshop by
Too_Many_Tools
On occasion I find myself needing to create items for the home
workshop that require a sewing machine.
I am looking for recommendations in what to look for in a sewing
machine that will handle a number of differnet materials (canvas,

Any suggestions?

using oriental rug to make a cushion by
Ellie C
I'm going to try to make a window seat cover from a very worn oriental
rug. I'm planning on cutting the best part of it. I welcome advise on
what to attach it for its underside; if it can be hand sewn ( I doubt
my machines could handle it); what kind of thread and needles to use;
seam allowances...
