INFLAMMATORY Breast Cancer by
Tia Mary
I purposely didn't mark this as an ot post because I wanted to make
sure that EVERYONE will hopefully read this. I don't remember ever
seeing anything about this subject posted before and we had several
discussions about breast cancer last month. Did you know that there is
more than one type...

petty b*tching by
T Michelle Jensen
Despite being a mental health professional, I am continually amazed at the
variety of ways people find to hurt one another with words. AND the amount
of time taken to sift dozens of messages, pick out those that support one's
petty bickering, and then bicker about that. I dearly wish I had the...

Being OT on RCTN (long) by
Susan Hartman/Dirty Linen
I'm reading all this discussion about education with lots of interest.
In our family, three kids over a ten-period has given me a lot of
exposure to both the best and worst of public education. We've had
teachers who were "passing time" until retirement, and others who are
very energetic and...

Somebody cut off my head? by
Caryn
I've had it! Please someone put me out of my misery! This weekend
made it 6 solid months with the migraine. I even had to cancel a much
anticipated S.E.X. outing with Ellice and Donna over it. I knew on
Friday, with it thundering all through the right side of my head and my
stomach refusing to...

Interesting observation on embroidery techniques. by
F.James Cripwell
Next Friday and Saturday, there is a needlework show called
Inspirations, being held in the Nepean Sportsplex here in Ottawa,
Canada. Virtually all the exhibitors are selling things. The Ottawa
Valley Guild of Stitchery is the exception. We are carrying out our
mandate of encouraging embroidery....

Might be off topic - reading slump by
Cheryl Isaak
What's happening - are my favorite authors just not prolific enough?? Just
too many bad novels out there??? Or am I just in a slump????
Have already read the newest 500 Kingdoms book from Mercedes Lackey. The
latest Meg Winslow from Donna Andrews and the newest Vicky Bliss from
Elizabeth...

Evangeline, MLI style by
lucretia borgia
Can someone tell me - is the Evangeline showing on MLIs site supposed
to be 'our' Evangeline as romanticized by Longfellow ? I hope not as
Evangeline lived a very peasant life, did not wear flowing gowns and
was said to be pretty.
The statue at Grand Pre more truly represents the grit of...

OT----- Who has time to stitch? by
scottnh
As I read over all these posts on nit picking, verbage, etc. I wonder how
all you ladies have time to do any needlework, crocheting, or knitting.
I think enough is enough. It is all so redundant!!! Get a private chat
room.

depressed over Martha by
sally
You know, no matter what we may feel about Martha, you have to admit
that it's pretty sad what has happened to her. She presents crafting
to the masses in an excellent manner. She doesn't bore the s#$t out of
us with her personality or her personal woes like other celebrity
hosts, she just cooks,...

OT New Poll - other things we do? by
Cheryl Isaak
OK Felice's "odd" post about a Food Channel show got me thinking!
What are some of your other hobbies - other crafts, collections, manias etc?
I'm a Girl Scout leader and hope to be doing it for a long time yet.
I collect gardening books, especially the essay writers. I adore Beverly
Nichols,...

Needlework Proficiency Levels by
Dianne Lewandowski
This is not cut in stone. It is an attempt to come up with some
"ideal". Something to ponder.
It has to do with: If I was headmistress of a brand new needlework
school, how would I set up the curriculum, and how would you get to the
next grade level.
Note that I didn't say: cross stitch, or...

What new projects are you starting now? by

Now that the holidays are nearly over and everyone should have a little more
free time, what projects are everyone starting? I only have one Christmas UFO
to finish, and one general UFO after that, so I can feel totally justified in
having fun with some new projects. My thoughts are running to a...

Needlepoint Fabric by
Lucille[_3_]
I'm looking for a small, 12" by 12" piece of blue 18 count mono canvas. The
only place I can find it is Nordic Needle and they will only cut it the
entire width of the fabric, which is way more than I need or want to store.
Does anyone know a place that will cut a small piece for me?
