Kaffe Fassett "shot cottons" question by
Adella
Anyone have experience working with these? I just bought several half
yds of various colors from an online source and I'm a bit disappointed
in how thin and "gauzey" they seem. The long grain seems so spongy
compared to other 100% cottons and I'm worried about using these in a
quilt with more...

still need more members for the birthday club by
Terbear
I am organizing the 2nd year of the birthday block exchange club. We will
have two
members for each given month (we may have some exceptions to this rule).
This club requires a year long commitment. Each individual will let us know
their preference for their gift blocks, and each person in the club...

New quilting idea by
DrQuilter
Hi guys....
now that we have the 3 bedrooms freshly painted and moslty ready - ours
and Sofi's only need details, like curtains (working on my first set of
roman blinds), the office still needs a lot of organization, I am moving
on to the living room. We decided we need to hang some quilts...

RCTQ BOM Pattern Help needed ( math) by
Christina in Ok
I forget what 2-3/8" and 3-7/8 is on the ruler (really just the 3/8 & 7/8
on the ruler)
I am thinking that the 3/8" is 3 dots from the 3 inch line and the 7/8 would
be 7 dots from the 3 inch line.
Does this make any since at all?

Little Gracie II book question by
joysjane
I just got a Little Gracie II. Haven't put it together yet.
Anyone have suggestions on good books for machine quilting? I have a
couple, but need to learn this better. I mostly tie my quilts. I also
don't do bindings!!! I flip my quilts like Eleanor Burns does in her "Quilt
in a Day Series". ...

OT - Orthopod visit by
Mika
Well I went to the orthopedic doc today and what a chore. I remember now why
I hated crutches so much the first time I had to use them. He did the usual
X-Rays and poking around on my knee. He said the bone structure looks good
and there are no fractures or dislocation. So that's good. What I do...

what thread do you use when machine quilting? by
chris
I'm curious to know what thread everyone uses for machine quilting. Do you
use the same in the bobbin?
BTW
Most of my quilts are quickies - I'm not very proficient at machine quilting
and tend to use invisible thread on top and Gutterman to match the backing
in the bobbin.

Yard Sale Score! And a ? by
Debra
Saturday morning I got up when the alarm rang. I set the alarm
because there was a yearly yard sale that I wanted to attend. The
lady that has it is 95 years old and moves around better than most
people 30 years younger than herself. She loves crafts, mostly
quilting. She absolutely loves...

an applique alphabet source by
D Curtis

The pictures are of animals that correspond to the letter of the
alphabet that is featured. I see a potential for spelling out a loved
childs name in a quilt. Sometime. Maybe
Have fun!

Soul food by

I'm curious as to what everyone's favorite "pick me up food" is. Myself, I
love dark chocolate. I have a secret stash (which is not so secret anymore)
of Dove Dark chocolate (goes well with a latte). I'd also like to know when
the "Queen of Chocolate" on this ng will relinquish her title so that...

European Whatchagot Box - particpants needed! by
Morag in Oxford
Hi ladies,
For those who don't know what a "whatchagot box" is here's a brief
explanation! I will fill a box (shoe box sized, more or less) with fabric
from my stash that I either don't like, or am unlikely to use. I will then
mail it off to person number 2, who will take out what they like,...

We arrived back home this morning from a trip to Holden Village, a

a great trip that was organized by the local Bible camp. We went by
Amtrak from St. Paul, MN, to Wenatchee, WA -- 32 hours each way. Then by
charter bus and...
