Machine grease by Gosh! by Night Mist
So I was cleaning and oiling my machines today (always after the worst of the cold is past)and I tripped over the machine DD1 brought over for me to fiddle the tension on. So I dragged it out thinking it was her Morse, but in fact it was her Singer 327. I decided that before fiddling anything I...

Quilt For Me update - March by Jalynne
Nothing, nada...can you believe it? I've had no energy to really do much, and don't see much happening until sometime mid to late April, unless it's hand work. I've been making jewelry, though...but i guess that doesn't count, since very little of it was for me. You can take a look anyway. ...

Quilt Finished - "Dancing Lights in Indigo Night" - Pix by Bronnie
After 5 weeks hard work, anguish, ups and downs, I have finished my latest quilt project. It is a wall hanging 52x52 inches. Inspired by a pattern in EQ5 and the twinkling city lights at night viewed from my home. I set myself a lot of challenges with this quilt, some met, some not, and have lived...

Update on me ... some OT by maryd[_5_]
As the long time posters know, we left Oregon where most of our children and grandchildren live so I could care for my ailing mother. After 10 months she graduated from hospice and DH and I got an apartment here in northern Idaho. After a lot of looking, I finally got a job as a motel...

Corduroy Quilt? by Debra
I've got a lot of corduroy in pinks and blues. It's nice soft stuff that will probably be even softer after washing. Can I use it to make a quilt top? Will I need to use big seam allowances? Debra in VA See my quilts at http://community.webshots.com/user/debplayshere

I am about to reorganize my quilt room for the umpteenth time. After sharing my quilt room for a few months with my boomerang son, I am ready to get everything put back where it belongs. My quilt room is beautiful and large with everything I need, but I find myself getting very frustrated when...

Stuffing the binding & Simon by Leslie in Missouri
Okay. When I finish a quilt thru the quilting and do my squaring up, I have always just laid rulers to the quilted sandwich and squared it with my trusty rotary cutter. Now, I have heard (on this ng, no less!) that my binding needs to be "full". How does one square the quilted sandwich and still...

Pattern problem -- I need someone who can think better than me by Violet \F'loonslayer\ Volfie
I found a nice little site that has a BoTM for free on it. The problem is, I can't print out the pattern so I've been drafting up the blocks from the instructions. I'm having a problem figuring out one piece of the pattern and I need someone who thinks more mathematically than I do to tell me if...

Ava Michelle has finally arrived! She was born at 12:47 am on October 20, 2005 weighing in at 7 pounds, 11 ounces. Proud papa said she was beautiful and very pink. They had not yet measured her for length when he called me so I have to get that detail yet. Everyone is doing wonderfully and...

OT useless silly by polly esther
You can go to http://ww2.howmanyofme.com and see how many people there are with the same name you have. We have no idea why anyone would care or why anyone would bother to gather and sort such information. For reasons totally obscure to me, there is only one Polly Esther.

Color Theory: RCTQ BOM by Dannielle
I have been looking, and looking, and then looking again at the BOM photos. I look at mine, then I look at others. Some I love, some I hate...we all have that with our personal color preferences. Regardless of the color preference (and no, I don't even like mine, I'm just using up some old fabric...

I'm referring to quilting quality fabrics. Today I went to my LQS, near home in Rome - Italy, and payed 1 meter (something more of one yards) of a stupid light background fabric, the beautiful of 15 Euro. OK, I had to buy that fabric. Then I have hear from a USA quilter friend: " I can purchase...
