Carding machine in UK? by
Dave Gibbs
Hi group, I wonder if anybody can help me find somewhere in the UK where
I can buy a small carding machine. My partner, Cath, had a quick go on
one at a craft fair and now has asked for one for her xmas present! We
have some Alpaca wool to card ready for spinning and weaving. I have
not told...

They knit WHAT????? by
Shillelagh
Saw this in a yarn store ad, and wished the blog "You Knit What?" was still
in existence. I love the look of most Noro yarns, but this sweater design
is unbelievably ugly..... no wonder there are derogatory remarks made about
"your aunt's knitting"...
enjoy...

Practical approach by
Jackie
Mirjam -- as you know, I recently asked about sideways'vest patterns.
I like the one in this link: http://tinyurl.com/yy83p2 -- I might make
that, although I might omit the "curly fries" and just knit the vest a
bit longer. Or, if I wanted the curls, I think it would be
considerably easier to...

knitting needles sizes by
jones
Am looking at some websites with knitting patterns for dolls. The needle
sizes say No.3 e.g.
To me (in Australia) No.3 needle is a thick one. As I am assuming the sites
are American, could it be that the two countries use opposite sizings.
Thanks for any help.

I've been wanting to try colorwork and felting, and this project combines
the two AND works for nice little presents and hostess gifts type
things: http://www.knitpicks.com/Projects/itemid_50517221/projects_display
My question is: when I follow the chart, do I knit every row (this is

Favourite Sock Yarn sources? by
the Furrsome Threesome
So, my new socks addiction is an expensive one - $7-$12 per 50 gm ball
of yarn.
I'm wondering if anyone has pointers to retailers, online or Canadian,
who may have discounts, good deals, or let you buy in quantity but
mix'n'match? (EG - I'd be happy to buy 10 balls of yarn but I want
different...

Insult! by
Olwyn Mary
The mail just arrived. In it there was a beautifully printed, full
color postcard advertising CapitalOne bank. On the front, there is a
picture of an elegantly wrapped gift box, and the wording "Whoever said.
"It's better to give than to receive" probably had an aunt who like to
knit."
Well,...

Victorian Lace Today by
Alison
I just got this large book last weekend (I had a gift card for Barnes
& Noble) and have found an awful lot of shawls/scarves I want to make
from it. It wasn't indexed (or I didn't find the kind I wanted) so I
made an index with the projects, along with yarn types and
requirements, and difficulty...

not readily available at my local craft store. Right now, I'm in

Still working on my kitchen, just now: a curtain/just a "top" over the
window, I like to see the wood!
The visitors who "peep" through my kitchenwindows are very welcome!
These two guested me about a week ago
