where is everyone from by
Judy W
I know I'm new here, and probably shouldn't even ask this question. But I
was wondering where everyone was from? If this is a no-no I'm sorry.
I live in Florida, North of Tampa.

Roll Call! by
frood
As newbies come and introduce themselves, we all say "hi" back to them. But,
while we learn a bit about them, they don't get to know us very easily. (ok,
except for a few gabby folks.... ;-P ) So, as a start to a new year, I
thought it would be fun to tell a bit about ourselves, and get to know...

OT word of the day by
NightMist
Dunno how long I'll keep it up, or if I will last even a week, but I
thought it might be fun to toss out a word a day and try to keep it to
textile terms.
They may not be new words for everybody, but hey it doesn't cost
anything. (G)
Today because I used the term once and puzzled people here,...

About Us by
Renee Clark
While googling trying to learn more about our Mesue (wish I had a chance to
get to know her), I came across a thread from 2000 in which RCTQ'ers
introduced themselves in detail. I've come on board since then (September of
'02), and I'm sure many others have too. Might be worth doing again for...

What do your qults say? by
Diana Curtis
After looking at the newest creation by Wendy (frood) and the beginnings of
another Jalynne and I discussed the topic, do our quilts reflect who we are?
Im not talking about the quilt that we made for Aunt Mabel in shades of plum
and puce geometrics cause thats what she asked for to go with her...

LQS Complaints--Other shoe; same foot. by
joan8904 in Bellevue Nebraska
A disclaimer--I have worked for almost 2 years in my local LQS and I
love my job and the customers.
I do enjoy reading your comments regarding your local quilt stores,
both positive and negative. There's always something to learn and it's
good to hear from the customer viewpoint.
But, on the...

Time for another Roll Call? by
Sally Swindells
As Cornwoman wrote 'Now I want to
know more about each of you! Please tell!!
and we seem to have a flurry of new posters, is it time for a general
Roll Call, so that newbies can see who we all are.
So here is mine:
Retired to the Suffolk coast in England from Nottingham in 2001, so...

Popular Misconception *a rant about group policy* by
Diana Curtis
..
We all talk about this group as if it is a cyber quilting bee. It isnt. It
is a quilting lesson, ongoing and dynamic. They are lessons we each pay for.
Some pay more, some pay less, but dang it, we all pay to be here.
Picture having a quilting lesson at your local quilt store where every...

Whats Everyone Working On? by
Diana Curtis
Well? ;-)
What sort of things does everyone have going at the moment in the quilt
family? Dragging out PIGS or finishing up UFOs and WIPS or have new quilts
started appearing?
I'm still working on the queen size LC borders, getting ready to MQ the
siggy quilt, plotting the next borders on DDs...

What does the quilt on your bed look like? by
frood
Do you have a quilt on your bed? Did you make it? What does it look like?
Why did you decide on that? Will LN really finish her own quilt?

A Favor of you Please by
judy in fort worth
I found RCTQ when I was new to the internet and trying to figure out the
attraction to chat rooms. This forum was more of what I was looking for and
was not filled with people pretending to be in their 40's when they were
really only teenagers. I do not post often but do read the ng daily. ...

Do we all have to tell our life's story on this group?
A little bit about sewing and quilting is enough.

Breast Cancer/OT by
pami
I am sure all you have heard Daniel Powder's song..."Bad Day" well this was
my bad day. I learned I have breast cancer. I had my lumpectomy this week
and it came back as malignant garde 3 tumor. I will have to get a
"masectomy" and have chemo. This has been a rough day for me but I don't
think...

1.) Wash it
2.) Dry it a little, shake it out outside, clean the lint trap repeat every
15 minutes until shagged as desired.

OT - cold weather food and beverage questions by
Tina
I have discovered that I am a tea addict. Have loved the stuff for
ages, but have discovered recently that I must have my afternoon tea.
About 2 in the afternoon, if I haven't started the tea kettle for a
English Teatime or a Constant Comment... I start to lose steam and feel
a bit...

What did Santa bring? by

I'm patiently waiting reports on what goodies Santa brought you all. Santa
came early this year and took me to Scotland with all the shopping
exeditions included. Oh, I guess I did get a new set of tires on my van the
other day. Merry Christmas to me! Almost as expensive as my plane...

New Log Cabin Quilt by
John
Well, I just finished my latest quilt. A 66"x 66" lap quilt for my

effort to date. Hope you like it.
