Sock heels by
Mary Fisher
The socks I knitted recently for No 9 grandchild were from a wartime pattern
and had an 'auto' heel.
The pattern book had several other sock patterns and I was interested to see
that some had 'French' and some 'Dutch' heels.
For interest I knitted one each of these heels, they were both...

Purse HELP by
Brenda[_2_]
I have just knitted (in-the-round) a purse using the garter stitch. I have
bound off the top and sewed the bottom and made my handle. I did not want
to have to line this thing but the top curls over. I am using acrylic yarn.
Can someone help me with this problem?

Seed Stitch--How to count rows by
[email protected]
Good morning! I am new to your groups and pretty new to knitting (4
scarfs, 1 doll blanket and 1 kerchief under my belt so far).
I am making a hooded baby blanket from a pattern I found at JoAnn
fabrics. It calls for the first 8 rows to be knit in seed stitch with
two strands of yarn held...

Allergic to wool by
[email protected]
Hi, I've been lurking here for a while and thought I'd poke my head up
to get some suggestions. I'm relatively new to knitting and
crocheting.
My son and I are allergic to wool. I am so allergic that if i touch
wool, it makes my fingertips feel immediately dry and itchy and it
makes my nose...

FO's and new pics by

I have new pictures ;) :
Baby Arnold Sweater from The Knit Stitch by Sally Melville:

Now that I look at the pic again, it looks kind of blurry. I'll try it
again, but leave this one up in the meantime. Variegated yarn just doesn't
seem to photograph well. ;(

A FO by

Pinned on the floor at my mother's-in-law (no kids, no cats, no
flat-footed men to trample it there!). I'll take it up today, pick
cat fuzz off of it, and get it boxed for giving.
I have for it a gorgeous little hand-turned wooden shawl pin :D

A pattern that middle school and high schoolers really seem to like! by
Padishar Creel
Hi,
Lion Brand Fun Fur was on sale at my local shop so I bought red, pink
and black and I have been knitting up scarves for some of the students
at both my school and my wife's school. Big hit with them and it
isn't very expensive.
For example, I use worsted weight Red Heart pink yarn and the...

Authoritative sources?! by

Authoritative sources?!
The first day of chemistry, Dr. Long said, "Read chapters 1,2 & 6 of the
text with great care. There will be a quiz!" The correct answer for the
quiz was, " The textbook is wrong, there is an error in the calculus". Out
of a class of some 470, more than 300 flunked that...

Doctors and facts by
No Name
A few years ago my Mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer's. Since then, she
has seen a baker's dozen of doctors, each prescribing drugs with more, and
worse, side effects.
A couple of weeks ago, one of my Sister's clients (a psychiatrist) noticed
my Mother's odd gait and spent a few minutes talking...

One cup of tea ingested and another on the way. :-) Meanwhile, I have

So far the kitty is winning!
This summer we are having a Festival here in scenic Ulricehamn, Sweden
and,...
