Cotton thread for embroidery machine? by
Polly Esther[_5_]
I think I'm cross-posting; just asked this over at the embroidery machine
group but they only appear every few weeks, it seems. I'm pretty sure there
are some machine embroidery-ers here.
Here's what I asked:
We took a little class on the Brother PE 770 last Monday. Immediately...

Anyone know a Cora Joehnck? by
Jo Gibson[_2_]
This person came on Skype today and wrote: "Hello there, I was looking
around the directory and I found your profile, and you seemed worth
talking to ;)"
There is only one directory I am in folks.
So has anyone ever heard of her?

OT - Dishwasher Review/update by
AuntK
Not sure that anyone remembers, or really cares, but we had quite a
lively discussion after my request for dishwasher reviews here.
Thanks to Allison I was able to review the Consumer Reports on
dishwashers and decided to go with a mid-range KitchenAid. Not the
cheapest nor most expensive on the...

Quilting in Sections by Marti Michell by
Leigh Harris[_3_]
Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone has or has seen this book and what you think of
it? From what I can see on the websites, it looks like something I'd be able
to work with, but the opinion of someone who's tried it is always welcome.
Also, I'm not quite sure if there's a variety of quilting...

OT - Weather by
AuntK
We have THUNDER and LIGHTNING with our snow and sleet currently here
in central NJ! Now, I've lived up and down the east coast - Mass. to
Md. and have seen some pretty violent storms. But I must say in my 55
years that I have NEVER seen/heard thunder/lightning during a snow
storm!
We got about 6...

In Spirit by
off kilter [email protected]
Well, I know I said I was back, but funny the way things work
out.....now I'm getting hits and custom orders for my business. That
means, to keep a positive business image and hopefully repeat
customers, I have to put aside my sewing/quilting and try to get
things done BEFORE...

OT Oh my gosh! by
NightMist
I have just been stunned speechless by our kiri's gramma.
The dear lady is 80+years old, and has been a widow for the last two.
She had been living in a senior's condo development, but decided the
house was too big and has recently moved in with relations in Ohio.
From quilting to housekeeping,...

Basket Blocks by
Polly Esther[_5_]
Who was it setting up block of the month baskets for her quilt group? I
found some great ones in QNM March 2003; even one where the basket is formed
from log cabins. I'll share. To avoid copyright mayhem, I'll just mail you
the magazine. Polly

Another You-Pick-It Swap Quilt Finished by
Louise in Iowa[_7_]
I don't want to admit how long it's been since this quilt was started!
As some of you will remember, Terbear hosted several swaps. In the
You-Pick-It swap, we each chose a focus fabric and then sent a 12"
square to each of the other members of the group. They, in turn, added
fabrics from their...

My current project... by
Mary O'Neill
After being away from quilt making for two years, I'm making my husband
his first quilt from me. Every other one I have made has gone mostly to
daughters, granddaughters, mom, grandma. I don't even own one that I've
finished. I have a couple of tops that will eventually be mine.
Last night...

RCTQ Website by
Kay Ahr
http://rctq-quilters.tripod.com/index.htm
Remember when I made a website for the group several years ago? During my
catch-up-with-posts time today, when I read in a March 2010 post that RCTQ
is now on Facebook, I suddenly remembered the website.
I made a few updates. Had a nostalgic romp...

Are we DEAD ? by
Polly Esther[_5_]
Maybe my newsreader has gone south for better weather ... ??? I don't see
diddly-squat from anybody for at least 24 hours.
Please tell me that you all didn't freeze to death ... not a considerate
time to mention that we had short-sleeve weather today.
Anybody quilting? Anybody...

"Excitement" here by

For those that checked the Ping Pati message...... and everyone else
who wishes to know.
Things have be a bit "exciting" around here this past week or so.

while. He went to his cardiologist, and the decision was to do a

OT knitting and banging my head on the washer by
NightMist
Remember that sweater I said I was making DH for Christmas?
Well I mangled some of the fussy cabling and had to frog it back several
inches, so it was late getting finished.
But finished it is, and gorgeous if I do say so myself!
When I dyed the yarn, I washed it as harsh as I could.
Washed and...
