OT - Susan Boyle by
anne
NBC nightly news has been following her story and last night announced that she
was the runner up. To my Internet buddies across the water, was the dance
troupe (sp??) that won good? Was her lose due to her 'bad' behavio(u)r that the
press picked up on?

OT. Tech advice needed. by
Olwyn Mary
As I mentioned the other day, I made the mistake of taking my laptop to
a "professional". It still is not right, and I have my suspicions that
this guy is either incompetent or makes sure the things are not fixed
right in order to ensure repeat business.
Anyhow, I have been thinkng that...

more dumbness by
anne
While working on the Brazilian embroidery project, I ignored the dicta
(dictum??) about carrying threads from one place to another as well as adding
another layer of fabric or interfacing. I didn't see those threads while
working the piece, or maybe I ignored them, but now they're quite visible...

OT - disposing of zip disks by
anne
Before the advent of inexpensive cd/dvds, flash drives and usb thingies, many
of us relied on zip disks for backup. I've got several boxes of them and am
trying to figure out how to dispose of them without leaving myself open for
data mining. They've been reformatted but that's not really...

OT - Had to brag by
Dianne Lewandowski
It's official. Parker has passed and is certified with Therapy Dogs
International. We're so proud of him. I was especially proud when - at
a psychiatric hospital - he sat and lay calmly and sweetly as a crying
patient just hugged and petted for what seemed like forever.
He'll be two in...

In My Hand I Hold A Ball,
White And Dimpled, And Rather Small.
Oh, How Bland It Does Appear,
This Harmless Looking Little Sphere.
By It's Size I Could Not Guess,
The Awesome Strength It Does Possess.
But Since I Fell Beneath Its Spell,
I've Wandered Through The Fires Of Hell.

OFF TOPIC - storing dolls by
Cheryl Isaak
These are sentimental value only, but there is DD's first doll baby and a
ladybug doll (aka Ann Geddes) and one or two others.
DD is sorting her collection of dolls and stuffed animals and a few have
lots of sentimental value. The rest will go to the local thrift store for
further...

Plaid afghan redux by
Barbara T
Time flies when we are having fun. Five years ago I read a post here
that a plaid afghan was being made. I was very interested and
inquired to the poster (Ericka K), she supplied me the details. Which
I carefully filed away awaiting inspiration.
Some time later I found I have ancestors in...
