diamond question by
Karen, Queen of Squishies[_2_]
I am insetting nine-patches between the points of my diamond stars.
What do I do about this? I'm worried it will mess up the next step.
Obviously this quilt is just *that* much beyond my skill level. But we
march on.

OT I want to get back to quilting and sewing! by
NightMist
But stuff keeps happening!
My dad is talking about driving to NY.
He does have some short term memory loss, and recent events have
aggravated the problem, whether permanently or temporarily we will not
know for a while.
The thought of him driving 1500 miles alone right now scares the bejeezus...

Happy celebrations to all of you across "The Pond"
We weren't all across the Pond while celebrating... we had a BBQ in the

Yikes! Now I've done it! (it's good, I think) by
Sunny[_2_]
I've volunteered to make the permanent banners for the little chapel
of our church, which is undergoing a complete re-do. New carpet, new
drapes, new backing for the cross (lots of grumpy parishioners who
hate change) and now I'm going to make the banner.
I drew up a possible design ... and I...

Another experiment with Clorox Bleach Pen by
Leslie & The Furbabies in MO.
For those of you interested in this process, I tried another experiment
with both of the two tips and the "spread factor". Also, the batik I
used was pre-washed and dried with a fabric softener sheet. I don't
know if the softener has any effect on the final results. The first
two pics are the...

Prewound bobbins by
Alice in PA[_3_]
I think they're the greatest thing around!!! Do any of you use them? Since
the thread is fine, they last forever! They're fantastic when doing
free-motion quilting.....less stops to change the bobbin. My sewing machine
repair guy gave me one to try, and I went back and bought a box of 100!...

Your patriotic DUTY by
Polly Esther[_5_]
Nevermind what country you're in, everywhere seems to be having an economic
crisis. It is your civic duty to find a great 4th of July sale and buy some
fabric. The amount doesn't matter; just one yard counts. Fly your flag and
grill some hamburgers and Help a quilt shop stay in business. ...

OT Gonna be gone for a bit by
NightMist
Well, my mum has moved from death's sidewalk to death's doorway.
According to the hospice nurse she could go at any time.
My dad is freaking out, my siblings think that his denial constitutes
dementia, my flight out has been rescheduled for Sunday, and my newly
renewed permanent copy photo ID is...

Where Can I Buy Dynamite. by
GrammyKathy[_3_]
I tried to post this yesterday, but it didn't go thru. I got it from
a post on one of my quilting groups... OK, now that I've asked for
dynamite & got Big Brother accessing my computer
and putting me on the watchlist for terrorism, let me explain.
Ants. They are everywhere. They are on my kitchen...

uploaded a picture of my Radiant Star top from the Carol Doak BOM to

but I am enjoying piecing blocks.

**HELP** - UK Quilters by
Tia Mary
This is my second post looking for the UK quilter who sent me a
quilt top she didn't like. About a year ago, one of our UK quilters
posted that she had finished a quilt top that she *really* didn't like
and was going to get rid of it. I posted a nice beg and was
eventually sent the quilt top. It...

sewing room art. by
Brian[_3_]
I have seen some posts about the art in various people's sewing rooms, so
I thought I would take pictures of the art in my sewing room. Most of
them are paintings by my mom, some of them going all the way back to the
60's, I think. There are also a few photographs by my dad, and some...

Need an old Sewing Machine manual? by
Sherry
In one of those organizational frenzies today. It's too hot to do
anything else.
Anyway, I found a Singer machine manual for 226U1 or 226U3.
I have absolutely no idea where it came from and don't need it.
But it looks original, and old and I hated to toss it before asking
if anyone wants it. Just...

Laurel Burch fabric by

I am planning to make a baby quilt using fabrics from Laurel Burch's Flying

fabrics in orange, yellow, lime, or purple. Sounds a little crazy for a baby
quilt I know, but those are the colors in the baby's room. If...

Time sponge by

I have just used/wasted/invested a whole morning watching videos on
Boobtube. Am I the only one who gets hooked by new gizmos,how-tos and
thing-a-ma-bobs for hours at a time? I know I don't play games on the
computer, but these little gems seem to be just as addictive. I never
knew there was so...

OT they never give up by

The last few days I've received spams saying my bank has refused the

Really?
I didn't transfer payment to ANYBODY .
I don't allow anybody access to my bank account - NOT the IRS, not the
phone company, not the credit cards. NOBODY.
Well. ...

Celtic conquered by

I did it! Wanted to play with Celtic for years; finally just put the brakes
on my other projects and cautiously proceeded.
Celtic Quilts by Beth Ann Williams was my guide. I figured out fast
that drawing the inside and outside guide lines for the bias tape placement
was a time-killer. ...
