OT That's one for the big dogs!!!!!!! by
Darla
The Newfoundland, Josh, took BIS at Westminster KC moments ago
(Pacific time, anyway). As a big-dog (Irish Wolfhounds) fancier
myself, I'm lovin' it! It's nice seeing a winner that's bigger than
the cup.

OT - strange thing by
Cheryl Isaak
Yesterday, DS was tossing his hockey gear in the truck and I was upstairs
trying to put away laundry.
Next thing I hear -
"MOM - your truck is in Mrs. T.'s yard."
Just after he tossed his stick in the cab, it started to roll backwards,
down the hill and across the garden in to my neighbor's yard.

DMC floss vs Other companies by
Fizbin
I've always used DMC floss. Mostly because that's what was available
in my part of the USA. But this morning I got to wondering what the
differences were between DMC, Anchor, and Coats. Why would someone use
one and not the other? Are there any advantages to other brands? Just
curious.

Tuxedo Cat by
Susan Cohn
Hi, its been a long time since I talked on this NG.
I'm doing the Tuxedo Cat which is the first chart in Holidays in Cross
Stitch 1991 from the Vanessa-Ann Collection. It calls for Marlitt for
the jacket, pants and cumberbund. I don't mind using the pretty red
Marlitt for the cumberbund but know...

Painted Canvases by
Ellen Winnie
Hi,
De-lurking to ask a question. I am new to needlepoint (but not other
forms of embroidery) I am working on painting my own canvases, just
for my own use, not for sale.
I am using acrylic paint mixed with textile medium. Currently I have
two questions:
1. How do you keep the color even...

Chart for "Friends" by
Sampler45
I have a friend I'd like to do a project for. She's a good friend and I'd
like to find something that has to do with being a friend. Has anyone done
something like this or seen something that would apply? Thanks for your
help.

New Designs / Scotties by
Poetta
Someone had asked (granted -- a long time ago) about designs of
Scottie dogs, and they're out now. I apologize for this taking so
long.
In any case -- check us out for the 3 new designs (Pillow Talks) if
you get a chance --

Honestly ... I'm laughing by
Judy Rigby
You remember all the to-do yesterday ? when I was stop-start-stop-start
over how to get this Flower Power on the frame ? Finally getting the
inspiration to use the hoop ? And doing all that ever-so-careful
tacking to locate the centre ?
Well. The 12 stitches grew from 12, to 24 & so increased...

eBay Buyers Beware! by
bronzemom
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2370835412
"Cougarlove" advertised a lovely 'Scottish Romance Sampler" -- turns
out, it is 3 pages ripped from a 10 year old issue of the Cross
Stitcher magazine. Aparently, this is not the first time she has used
deceptive wording in her item...
