Engraving in Gold/Silver... by
Samiel
It seems like engagement rings are all silver or platinum these
days... but I'm a bit partial to gold. Maybe I should change my

Anyhow, I was thinking about my plans for purchasing an engagement
ring for my girlfriend. I would kind of like her name and a few
horses lightly engraved...

Crazy Way to Clean Jewelry by
Ronald
Hey everyone,
I have a number of diamond and sapphire rings that I am pretty
religious about cleaning. Last night, I had this wild idea and I want
to hear the opinions of you all.
I boiled some water in a pot and tied a few rings to a grill that
straddled the top of the pot (the rings were not...

Mold release for dental alginate by
Ann Ominous
I have a dry dental alginate positive model that I'd like to vacuum
cast in gold. This is a reduced-size model made from a rubber mold
that no longer exists, and full-size object that I no longer own.
What's the best process, given that I only need one metal object in
the end? Is the following...

Movado Tension rings by
[email protected]
Hi,
I was wondering about what people's opinion is with Movado tension
rings. My concerns are as followed:
1. How well are they constructed, since metal alloys have a large
effect on duability on a tension set ring. Am I for example better off
buying a ring from Steven Kretchmer designs?
2. How...

Jewelry for people with severe alergies by
Tom Dempster
I'm looking for something for my wife for our 25th anniversary. She doesn't
wear her gold wedding ring anymore because she is allergic to everything on
the planet, or so it seems, and not surprisingly she developed a skin
reaction to the ring. If it's possible to speculate, what material tends...

Hello by
sfgems
Just subscribed to it and hope to see some old faces here. I was bit
out of touch with online groups for a year or so and i guess i have
some more time to devote reading about current gemstone related topics.

Question by
Crea
Hello, I'm new to this group. I was just poking through some old
jewelry tools and stuff of my Dad's, and came across several packets of
"United States Bronze Powder Works, Inc. #801 Light Gold Burnish - One
Ounce." Would anyone happen to know what this may have been used for?
Also, would anyone...
