Great "Frickin'" Blue Heron AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!! by
Lucille
I'm really sorry about the Heron but the good news is that it's the end of
the 8th inning and the Marlins are up 2. If you can't enjoy the Florida
Blue Heron, at least you can enjoy the Florida fish.

Hi,
I've never posted to this group before but found it while searching
for part of a pattern that I've lost. I had the entire Jean Farish
America, Land That We Love pattern saved for some time and decided
recently to stitch it and found that I've lost a couple parts of it, I
had some work done to...

CATS by
Linn Skinner
I needed to call the CATS folks to correct the address they had for us and
inquired about their website. They apparently are doing some updating and
it may be a bit inaccessible for a time but they indeed are still around.
It is my understanding that there will be some changes in teachers...

On Plain Needlework by
Dianne Lewandowski
I thought the following quote might interest a great many of you. This
was excerpted from a good friend's web page http://hollisandbell.com
"In olden days, the great occupation of women's life was needlework.
Many are the pictures we have of ladies and their maidens at work on the
tapestry...

Needle Buffs in St. Joseph, Missouri by
LdyTegan
I'm sorry to say that I don't remember who thought they'd heard that Needle
Buffs had closed, but I'm happy to say it hasn't! I had to go pick up a picture
that I'd had framed at Hobby Lobby right behind them, so I figured I'd cruse
the parking lot at least to see if the store was still there. It...

Fabric Storage in Stash Room by
Allie Orange
After organizing (more or less) my magazines and patterns, I am now moving
on to how to store fibers, frills and fabrics.
I plan on using ArtBin's plastic storage containers for fibers (saw it on
Shay Pendray's show and checked with the company and it is OK for fibers),
along with the plastic...

So Cal fires--protecting needlework by
Laura
I live on the north side of San Diego, where all the fires have been
burning. Luckily, our neighborhood was bypassed. We feel really
fortunate. Our current problem is the air quality. I was wondering
if anyone knows what should be done with needlework (wips and the
pieces as yet unframed) to...

Is CATS Kaput? by
LHBanchik
Does anyone know what's happened to the CATS website.
I was looking for it this morning and found that the old website is still up
but the 'redirect' button (to www.stitchingfestival.com) now sends you to one
of those "This website is available" places. Did they finally go belly up?
Mr. Cole's...

All Snippets and on topic too! by
Cheryl Isaak
Greetings from NH where we don't know if it fall or late summer!
Part 1: Thanks to every one that had suggestions from removing some machine
stitching; it went fairly easily. I slid a laying tool between the fleece
and the stabilizer; then the threads were lifted just enough to snip way.
After a...

Hi everyone.
I'm a new poster but I have been lurking for a little while and have found
some really useful stuff so far - thank you all :)
I was wondering if any of you have used the DMC Stitch-a-Photo and if so how
did it turn out? I have heard some great reviews of so far but I wanted a

posted a scan of finished needlecase by
Susan Hartman/Dirty Linen
As I promised last week, I posted a scan of the needlecase I just
finished. I started an album in the yahoo group, called "Sue's photos".
The needlecase was a project from the January (I think) Piecework, but I
thought their design was pretty boring...a simple abstract butterfly
done in plain DMC...

Knit stitch in Monica's book by
The4wilsons
I hope someone can help me. I'm looking for a knit stitch that I saw in one of
Monica Ferris' needlework mystery books. I started a scarf for my daughter
using this stitch on a small part of it and I'm ready for it again on the other
end of the scarf and can't for the life of me remember how to...

What kind of needlework do you do and/or teach? by
Linda D.
Hi everyone,
It seems like it's been awhile since we talked about what type
of needlework we do. We seem to be spending more time talking about
parenting or whatever than needlework. so I'll start the ball
rolling...
I started off with sewing, then got into needlepoint, and 30
yrs. ago started...
