A Lob Cabin Quilt by [email protected]
This is the quilt I am working on right now. Not from any magazine but possibly(?) got the pattern from www.quilterscasche.com Each block is approx. 10 inches finished. Want to do another of these but larger, using 2 1/2 inch strips instead of 2 inch strips. The light side of this block is pale...

Sewing Scissors by Brian Christiansen
I have a couple of pair of sewing scissors. Two are Fiskars, and will tell the story of why I have 2 if somebody wants me to, but my main questions is about my other pair. I have another pair that I suppose is part of my "inheritance" from my late mother. It is a pair of heavy duty Wiss...

Need Heartland Quilt Block of the Month-July, December by Leslie Bowen
I am missing July and December from the Jo-Ann Fabrics "Heartland" Quilt Block of the Month from 1999 designed by Meredith French. This is NOT the newer "Threads From the Heartland" Jo-Ann quilt. Any ideas? Thank you. I have already searched ebay and contacted Jo-Ann customer service. Meredith...

Cosplay and new comic by Brian Christiansen
I am not a cosplayer, but I think about various costumes once in a while, and how I might make them. One of the costumes that I think about is the following: https://katiediazz.deviantart.com/art/Kyoshi-Warrior-Suki-158849818 from the cartoon "Avatar The drawing that I linked to is fan art,...

Harvest Quilt by [email protected]
I brought this Harvest pattern from Jordan's Fabrics. It is one of Cozy Quilt designs which has Throw, twin, queen and king sizes, so you can make any of these sizes. I used some of my left over fabric from other quilts for this quilt. It uses (37)2 1/2 inch strips. If you go to the the internet...

Heat n bond question? by [email protected]
You can buy this heat and bond at Wal-mart as I use it all the time. You apply it to the back of the fabric, then heat it with an iron, pull off paper and then applique it. Don't think it would work for turning under but works good for blanket stitch or zig zag. Sandy$

Cribbean Sunset Quilt by [email protected]
I am working on this quilt now and have all the pieces cut out. This quilt is by Nancy Mahoney. It says Easy at the top but think a beginner would have trouble. Quilt finishes at 68 X 68 with 12 inch blocks. My X block is 2 tone Turquoise print and the star block has solid turquoise with 2 colors...

OT Moving by [email protected]
Hello Nightmist, I usually move about every 5 years and give as much as I can away before moving. My biggest problem is cloths as I am a cloth horse with every closet stuffed. I finally made myself turn loose, if I wasn't going to wear it with a year out it went to Goodwill. This goes for...

OT Moving by Night Mist
Well we got all our stuff moved, though we are far from organized yet. We did not clean the old place as much as we would have liked because the plumbing went from bad to worse and we had to turn the water off to avoid flooding and electrocution and badness. The horrible couch and matching chair...

OT Finally Closing! by Night Mist
After much fuss and bother we finally have a closing date! We close this Friday. I got the confirmation from the lawyer this morning. The seller's lawyer dragged their tail about getting ours the needed papers, so he had to work at top speed because our grant expires on the fourth. This is...

OT Beavers! by Night Mist
I had been thinking that our bitty patch of inland wetland was a spring that had been allowed to bog up. Nope. We have a beaver family that moved in and made themselves to home. We will be keeping an eye on this to see if we have to put in a pond leveler to keep the water from expanding too far,...

Jamaican Stars Quilt by [email protected]
This quilt is easy to make. I did not use batiks as I don't really like them but just used small colorful prints and it looks beautiful. Colors like a rainbow. This came from the Quiltmaker magazine September/October 2017. I could not find it on quiltmaker web site but did see it at:...

Trouble with the tension disks by [email protected]
My thread gets stuck tightly between the tension disks and then breaks. It was sewing just fine off the quilting frame and I was using embroidery thread. On the frame it's all the time. Changed the needle, oiled the machine and I'm using the same thread as before. Ant answers?
