About the matt wax gun by
Paul WIlson
Hey,
I'm thinking of getting a Matt wax gun so I might add a complex sprue
manifold to a thin wax model prior to burnout.
I worry that wax thusly extruded won't stick to my wax model (castaldo
orange wax). No help from the vendor.
Does anyone know if it'll work?. It's not the cheapest thing to...

Abrasha.....is wonderful! by
BettyPego
Over the years, I have been privileged to be a part of this group.
I don't do jewelry anymore, but I like to know about others who do.
Occasionally I ask a question, or give an answer....
Abrasha always is 'on target' and I don't consider him abrasive...
Succinct, cogent and terse....but very...

accuracy of scales by
timW
Hi there,
I'm looking at buying a small electronic scale that can
accurately measure gemstones down to an accuracy of 1 tenth of a carat.
There are a number of them available on Ebay, but I'm just not sure how
much I can believe the write-ups on their stated level of accuracy.
Here's an...

Acid Etching by
Charlie
How do you acid etch silver? What set up do you need? I can't seem to find
anything about it on the net, am I searching for the right thing?
Heres an example: http://www.catherineondrey.com/egyptiansun.html I've got
some really cool patterns in my head, but haven't got a clue about how to
start...

Acid Etching by

I'd like to know how these designs are put on the Silver! The Sun and the
jungle type prints.
I confess, I want some of these. I've figured out (all by myself!) how to
make plain ones, but patterns would be so...

Actual "value" by
[email protected]
Lets say I buy a diamond ring for say 10k, and had it insured for
replacement value.
Let's say the ring was lost/stolen almost immediatly after I bought
it. My insurance company is able to get a suitable replacement, yet
they only pay 3k for it.
I don't understand how this price gap occurs. How...

Hi everyone!
It seems like there are so many out there who want to sell their
handmade jewelry and don't know how to get started or how to locate
their market.
I was in the same position for years until I started testing different
marketing methods and discovering what works and what doesn't.
I...

I own and operate a Service Bureau for the jewelry trade. These programs I
bought to try and don't really use them, so I thought it might benifit someone
out there as I am selling them WAY BELOW their cost.
For anyone trying to get started in the world of Cad CAM Jewelry making and

Advice for Heavy Bracelet or Watch? by
JeanneP
Hello all,
I'm looking for a good way to get something really heavy on my
left wrist without looking too conspicuous. This would be
something I wear every day, so it would need a versatile look
and be durable, although I could get two such items for different
looks, if I need to. Normally, I just...
