Quilted Happy Dance! by
frood
It's not DONE, but the quilting is finally finished on Spike's I Spy
quilt!!! The final border is stipple quilted, and I hate stippling! This is
a 2-sided, twin size quilt (could there be any other size for Spike and
Giles). At this point, I'm moving on to the quilting on Giles' I Spy quilt.
That...

my sewing machine's miraculous recovery! by
Marijke
I just got The Phone Call. I'd been waiting anxiously all day. How was my
Iris doing?
She pulled through. It was but a minor ailment, easily managed by the tender
loving care of the visiting technician. She has been restored! Her scratched
bobbin case was filed smooth and her timing is now on...

another OT MIL update by
maryd
She's out of the second surgery but will be kept in the drug induced coma
until morning then allowed to wake slowly. Thanks again for prayers, good
thoughts, and hugs. I think I will get me some dinner and do some quilty
stuff this evening.

TANish...Paint Stain? by
[email protected]
I need some help. We painted barn boards (don't ask) last
weekend, and I ended up with a big blob of paint on the butt of my
brand new jeans. I washed the whole load, my clothes, dh's and dd's
clothes together in cold water, and none of the paint came out.
Can you think of a way to spot treat...

OT - That caramel recipe by
Johanna Gibson
Hello,
This is from my Better Homes and Gardens cookbook, so I will put
American terms on the left and UK terms in parentheses. I didn't
weigh things as I went, so I hope the UK folks interested have a US
measuring cup in the house!
Caramels:
1 cup butter (a standard package of butter in the UK...

Send me a toddler by
Polly Esther
I need one to make something sticky.
Because I bring to quilting some minor challenges - one eye, weak knees
and a limited attention span, to mention a few, I thought it would be very
helpful to have a real cover on my design wall. Up until now, it was covered
with $1 a yard polyester terry cloth....

Treadles on SQ 1/20/05 by
Pat in Virginia
Heads up, you sleepy heads on the NA sunset coast!
Today's Simply Quilts show featured Treadle SM. the
guest (Donna Something?) explained how to clean and
restore the SM. She demonstrated how she quilts on the
treadle. She even taught how to make ruffles on it. Way
cool. If you hurry you might...

OT giggle by

This is a true story If you have children you will probably relate to
this father.
As ham sandwiches go, it was perfection.
A thick slab of ham, a fresh bun crisp lettuce and plenty of
expensive, light brown, gourmet mustard.
The corners of my jaw aching in anticipation, I carried it

OT - time for an update by
Queen of Squishies
I have survived driving in all kinds of Midwest weather for 12 days, some of
which scared me to death. But I did it! : )
DH's blood is coming into the range they want it, but very slowly. That's
fine, I know this will work itself out. He has lost a great deal of the use
of his right arm. He's...

pout: can't do any stitching well today by
Monique Reed
Because my dear QI kitty Mir accidentally bit the h**l out of my left
index finger (right through the first joint) and it is infected and
swollen like a sausage. I've got ten days of antibiotics thanks to
that little furball. (I've been researching the joint problems,
meningitis, tendinitis,...

Don/Gen
I leave Tues. for vacation----behave yourselves while I'm gone. I'm going
to Clermont, FL to spend a few days with a cousin I haven't seen in 24
years. My DH will come down on Sat., and on Sun. we leave for a cruise. The
first one, so am really looking forward to it.

Thread colors for MQ (long) by
Pat in Virginia
some time ago someone here asked about using more than
one color quilting thread on a quilt. I said that while
I had never done it, I thought it would work okay. HA!
I inadvertently lied. Since then I noticed that my
little Down Under Santa WH has at least 4 colors of
thread. Yesterday I was...

O. MY. GOSH. Suprise S.E.X. !! by
hfw
Had to go pick up a batt I'd ordered at a not so local QS, so figured I'd go
to the JoAnn's up that way with my coupon. Get there and they're not
honoring the coupons...because everything in the store is at least 40% off!
Fabrics were a 2 yd minimum, at 60% off, or 70% if you finished a bolt....

Washing Rag Quilts by
Shirley Ellen
Hi everyone
I haven't been here for a while but I was going back through the threads and
know you were discussing rag quilts back there a bit but it didn't quite
answer the question I have.
I just made my first rag quilt. It turned out awesome I think.. although it
doesn't look so good in photos....
