Chemistry basics for potters? by

Hi everyone
I have litterally only had about 3 lessons in Chemistry during my schooling,
due to a change of systems late in high-school. And those 3 lessons were so
far over my head, you wouldn't believe it.
Now, especially considering the problems I am having using other peoples'
glazes, I...

Choice of slab rollers by
Stuart & Kathryn Fields
After reading lots and lots about the many s-r s out there, I've narrowed my
pics to Northstar vs Bailey -- 24", standard models. Can't find any real
user notes about the Northstar with its nylon gears. This equipment will
not be my main worker and I'm not going into great production, so the...

Christmas candles? by
Bill DeWitt
I spent half the day searching local stores, the other half searching google
for some of those window candles with electric lights that are made out of
porcelain or ceramic. I would think that someone makes them, but all I can
find is cheap plastic junk. Anyone seen some nice ones for sale?

Christmas houses? by
Bill DeWitt
I was thinking about starting to make my own Christmas town houses. So far
my idea is to press some tiles in the shape of walls and roofs and bonding
them together. This is (IMO) better than attempting to make a multipart mold
and slip casting it.
But since I don't know the pro's and con's of...

Chrome tin pinks by
plodder
Hi all, does anybody have the recipe for Emannuel Cooper's chrome/tin
pink, stoneware glaze, I had it several years ago but can't find it
amongst my papers. It's an unusual glaze, pink where thick and blue in
thinner areas; I believe he called it "Midnight fun". Help please!
Cheers, Andy
