Calling on Kiln experts by
DKat
I just discovered that our studio bought a skutt cone 6 kiln which is used
to do cone 6 glaze firings. We do probably 2 firings a week when things are
busy. Needless to say our brand new kiln is dropping in performance and we
will soon have to buy new elements. So.... Would it help significantly...

Calling on professional potters by
Xtra News
Hey guys there is some disagreement at my local potters group about how
often kiln elements need replacing. In my own kiln I replaced them after
about 150 firings. The kiln began to take longer and then began to struggle
to reach temp even though none of the elements were broken. I would...

Cambridge controller by
Mike
Hi
I'm just rebuilding an old kiln, and it came with a separate Cambridge
Controller model number 401R+.
I assume from the model number that it needs a type R thermocouple, is
this right? Inside it has a linking plug, like in a computer, called
LK2, what does this do?
Can anybody photocopy or...

Can Anyone Identify this slipware pattern. by
Craig N MacKenzie
Hi All.
I've just found an old tea set - slipware apparently.
I recognise it from when I was a kiddy but can't identify the
style/pattern/make.
Can anyone have a look and give me some advice - I'm sure it's a very
obvious to those in the know.

Can I store a kiln outside? by
griz
Hi
I have to move from premises I'm currently in and have to store my electric
kiln at home.
It's a toploading electric kiln with controller etc. I'm terribly short of
space, I live in a small flat in London - I could store it in a small
conservatory in the garden, but I would rather not, it's...

Can Nothing Go Right?! by
Doug Porter
A couple weeks ago I finished my first glaze firing in my brand new
Olympic Kiln----WHAT A DISASTER!!!!
I am still trying to chisel pieces of glaze and pottery off of my
shelves. Anyways, to add to my misery I noticed, post firing, that
the fire bricks on the bottom of my kiln have cracked. How...

a piece of tile with one side sanded down ( taking the sharp edge and just
rounding it off a little. )
they charge an arm and leg for these bullnose...

Can someone test my clay? by
knob
My latest project to irritate my wife is playing in the
mud. My two small children and I mixed up a batch of
clay and had a great time doing it. I'm building
a pottery wheel right now and if my clay is good I
will also build a kiln. Please note that I do not
intend to make great works of art, we...

Can this help you? by
k
I found this on a bulletin board like this one and decided to try it.
Previously I was browsing through a newsgroup, as you are now, and came
across an article similar to this that said you could make thousands within
weeks with only an initial investment of £5.00! So I thought, this must be
a...

Can you craft the Pot of Pestilence for me??? by
Don A. Gomez
I'm an evil wizard and I need a Pot of Pestilence to hide it
in my Dungeon of Despair so that a band of adventurers
will be hired by a good wizard to destroy the evil pot and
me.
My plan is to lure the adventurers to my lair, then my
henchmen will kill and butcher them and we will feast
on their...

Can you imagine succeeding as an artisan? by
Carol Pentleton
"I have had a listing on your site for some time now. Since it was
free to post my info and link to my site I did not expect to get much
in return in terms of jobs or calls. Recently I had requested an
update of my biography. You updated the page very quick and
accurately. Then, out of the blue I...

candleholders by
sandi
Hello Everyone,
Does anyone know of something I could use to gage the opening on a
candleholder, the kind that you open off center and pull a saucer and
then pull the actual candlestick then attach a little finger handle?
Sort of early American looking. It seems like I can't get the holes
uniform...
