ping Karen by Taria[_2_]
I think it was Karen looking for blue appliances. Check out the new deep blue fridge Amana has. Just saw a blurb in the newspaper this morning and saw the mention. Maybe there will be more choices in appliances coming along. Pic at bottom of this link: http://www.amana.com/#/filicia/ HTH, Taria

Baby quilt story by Lizzy Taylor
Back in 2006 or thereabouts I made a baby quilt for one of DH's cousins for their new baby, Harry. In 2008 baby number 2 arrived and I soon had an almost completed quilt for Oliver, but it took me until the end of this year to get it finished in time for Christmas. On seeing little Oliver's...

Heard from JESSAMY!!! by Tia Mary
I just got a quick e-mail from Jessamy!!!!! She says her health hasn't been cooperating of late and had prevented her from quilting much. No mention of the boys just that she has lost access to the e-mail addy that I used. But she's still with us so THAT is good! Just wanted to let...

2 wonderful additions to my 2009 repertoire (not off topic) by Musicmaker
In the last week of 2009, my son let me know that the art quilt/ portrait that I gave them for Christmas last year is so precious to them that they have painted and decorated the master bedroom with colors to coordinate and are going to put it in a glassed in frame and hang it permanently. I...

I am visiting the Pasadena area and was wondering if anyone knew of any great lqs's in the area? I tried googling and yellow pages, but couldn't confirm that there were actually any shops left in the area. TIA, Nancy

final finish of the year by Taria[_2_]
Not quilting but sewing project. Two big cedar filled fleece dog beds. Names embroidered on each. DH asked if I was going to teach them to read so the pups knew which bed was for which. Well, Georgia smart enough to go right to hers and lie on it. Sure she had a 50/50 chance of getting it...

Happy New Year by Susan Torrens
I had planned to sew today, but.... I started by making bread - mixing and kneading. Then DH suggested we bake some ribbon cookies (dough in refrigerator). While I'm slicing those, he decided to make another treat that takes Rice Krispies, peanut butter and chocolate (our neighbours have their...

OT - 38 week update by Jo Gibson
Hello folks, Well the baby's head has been 4/5 engaged for about 3 weeks now, and I'm not sure that has anything to do with it, but I've developed SPD which is short for "lots of pain in your pubic joint because it is separating and bone is rubbing on bone". I can barely walk anymore, and am...

This quote was on one of my groups today by GrammyKathy[_2_]
I think we all need to claim this quote ROFLMBO "Strength is the capacity to break a chocolate bar into four pieces with your bare hands--and then eat just one of the pieces." (Judith Viorst (1931-) US writer and poet). I'm afraid I'm not that strong yet.

OT ping NightMist by Polly Esther[_5_]
May I interrupt pie pastry and new computer challenges and ask for a report on the Puppen? Was it a hit or was it fascinating at least as long as an empty box might be? Hoping it was very special, Polly

OT - Windows 7 by Karen, Queen of Squishies[_2_]
A few days ago I discovered that DH's laptop is operating with Windows 7. It must have been an automatic update, because we certainly did not go out and BUY Windows 7 for this 4 yr. old laptop. Did anyone else notice this on their computer? Karen, Queen of Squishies
