Woolen Quilt by
Rick[_3_]
This weekend we sheared about 30 sheep. Instead of having the wool
made into yarn, we are putting some of it aside to be made into a
queen size quilt batt. Oh, it is going to a warm one. I was
undecided on what fabric to use for the covering. We have many, many
pairs of jeans around that need...

? Robert's Rules of Order by
yvette
Does anyone have experience conducing Guild meetings according to
Robert's? We need more organiztion and structure in our meetings and
I'm trying to come up with a process because sometimes the meetings
become a free-for-all and nothing gets accomplished.

Scrappy Field of Dreams pix - better photograph by
Bronnie[_2_]
Here is a better pix of the quilt that I was able to take at guild
meeting yesterday. At home I couldn't get far away enough from the
design wall.

Prewashing questions by
AuntK
I'm normally a pre-washer. One recent project, since I was getting
pieces for a BOM from my LQS, I didn't pre-wash - didn't trust I would
have enough on any given piece after trimming strings, etc. Even when
I purchased yardage to complete the project because I wanted
everything to shrink at the...

OT lame joke by
Taria
Aging Aunt Mildred was a 93-year-old woman who was particularly
despondent over the recent death of her husband. She decided that she
would just kill herself and join him in death.
Thinking that it would be best to get it over with quickly, she took out
his old Army pistol and made the decision...

Flying Geese Units by
Pat in Virginia
Flying geese units are fun and versatile. The units can be constructed one
at a time using templates or rotary cutting. There are several speed
techniques that involve sewing, then cutting. I like the one that requires
one large square (the goose) and four small squares (the sky.) I know how to...

Finished Farm quilt by
Heidi
I haven't been quilting all that long, so haven't finished a lot of
projects, but just finished the most complicated quilt I have
attempted so far. I am awed by many of the beautiful quilts posted on
this group, but I am still proud to have this one finished, and have
it turn out even better than...

Two new quilts finished by
Bronnie[_2_]
Finished two quilts.
1. Guild challenge -" Flight of Fancy". Fun to do; you'll recognise
Ricky Timms fabric (and in the other one as well).
Gets judged tomorrow. Not expecting a prize LoL.
2. "Scrappy Field of Dreams". This was really a great project to play
with. All my own design. Used 600...

OT - sort of returning by
Karen, Queen of Squishies[_2_]
I have MISSED you all so very, very much! I have seen a handful of you
on Facebook, but that's it. Don't even see the local gals, as I haven't
been getting out.
I thought it was time to drop in and get a fix. Whoa! Had to mark 2400
messages read!
I have been seeing recent signs of progress...

It's a girl! not OT by
AliceW
We found out on Thursday that the new baby will be grand daughter number 2!
My question is about using flannel as a backing for chenille. Do I wash
both before sewing together or after? I've not worked with this combination
before so I don't want to mess up the fabric. I had heard about not...

New Art Quilt Pics by
onetexsun
Generally speaking art quilts don't get washed. They hang on a wall,
like any framed or unframed piece of art, and cleaning is by gentle
dusting or shaking. :-)

fabric hunt (roadway) by
Lynn
Hi all -- I used to read rctq a lot way back when (when I had time to
quilt). I'm on the hunt for an Easter basket filler, and thought I'd
come to the experts. Can anyone recommend a favorite roadway fabric
for my little fan of cars/buses/trains/fire engines? I'm looking for
the type with...

OT holding her close by
Polly Esther[_5_]
Just hoping that someone might be reading Irene's email and telling her of
it, I begged for a report. She sent back a little note herself this
morning. She is home, well cared-for and hoping her good drugs will kick in
quickly. Please continue to hold our dear friend in your hearts and...

Back home from Phoenix..... by
Susan Torrens
Had a lovely trip to Arizona. The only low spot was being unable to meet-up
with Patti and Ms Butterfly! Did have a long phone conversation with Ms B.
The quilt show in Mesa was great. Wonderful quilts, with lots of variety.
As usual, the lighting left something to be desired in several areas,...
